It took Edwards until very late in the round three how to give himself some room on the back foot and then come forward and counter the swarming style of Kirby. As soon as he did this you could see him gain confidence. Both fighters have big tickers and bloody hard chins.People at the venue had divided opinions on the verdict. In my eyes the draw was a worthy decision.I also was next to some gamblers who had backed Edwards for the win and they agreed the draw was the right decision even though one of them was a bit peaved and that was just coming from a punters perspective. You should have seen the bloke pacing up and down waiting for the decision. It was GOLD.

    Big wraps for Linc Hudson.

Many, including my silly self, had reservations about Bangin' Bens chances of lasting the rounds out.. before the fight.

Relentless night for both guys. The rematch will be one NOT to miss.

Ben looked to have come in a bit too heavy and his footwork and hand speed seemed to have suffered from it.

    well wtf do u expect?

we have only a handful of heavys in the country.

everybody knows our boxing lacks depth, but this fight was between 2 warriors who refused to be beat. given that, i think it was a great fight to watch.
people always whinge about mismatches, and watching the klits etc. jabbing their way to victory, and fighters too timid to let their punches go for fear of copping one in the process, so at least u had 2 evenly match guys wanting to tear each others heads off.

yes it was a bit ugly, and they were buggered, but both fighters dug deap.

imo, kirby should have won by 2-3 rounds.

As an outsider looking in Stewy i agree but it's been the like that for years now (in fact a good buddy fought for the Queensland state heavyweight title whilst down there on holiday) .

The only Heavy weight we have that actually doesnt look like a weight watchers reject would be Sol Haumono, its just a pity he is as mentally soft as a german pornstars **** that has been fisted for 5 hours straight.

Lucas Browne weighed in at 130kg's for last night's fights, he wasn't as cut as I've seen him in the past, but he wasn't exactly a fatty either.
