The next heavyweight great watch- Basicaly guys that haven’t fought for a heavyweight title yet, and young enough to have a few years at the top. I ranked them in accordance to their current ranking rather than their potential greatness. 1. Alex Povetkin 6’2 227 pounds 31age 21-0 (15 k’os) – Best wins C. Byrd. E. Chambers. L. Donald 2. Robert Helenius 6’6 ½ 240 pounds 27age 15-0 (10k’os) – L. Brewster, S. Peter, A. Levin 3. Kubret Pulev 6’4 ½ 250 pounds 30age 12-0 (6k’os) – D. Guinn, D. Rossy, M. Skelton 4. Denis Boystov 6’1 230 pounds 25 age 28-0 (23 k’os) – T. Badenko 5. Mike Perez 6’0 230 pounds 25age 16-0 (12k’os) – T. Fields 6. Tyson Fury 6’7 260 pounds 22age 14-0 (10k’os) – J. McDermeot X2 7. Seth Mitchel 6’2 243 pounds 28age 21-0-1 (15 k’os) – 8. Edmund Gerber 6’3 238 pounds 22age 15-0 (10k’os) R. Dettweiler 9. Manuel Charr 6’3 ½ 245 pounds 26age 17-0 (9k’os) 10. F. Pianeta 6’5 240 pounds 26age 23-0-1 (14k’os) 11. Luis Ortiz 6’4 235 pounds 32age 8-0 (6k’os) 12. David Price 6’8 247 pounds 27age 10-0 (8k’os) 13. A.Wawrzyk 6’5 230 pounds 23 age 21-0 (10 k’os) 14. V. Glazkov 6’3 221 pounds 26 age 9-0 (6 k’os) 15. J. Hanks 6’4 240 pounds 28age 16-0 (11 k’os) 16. D. Wilder 6’7 220 pounds 25 age 16-0 (16 k’os) 17. D. Chisora 6'1 1/2 244 pounds 27 age 14-0 (9 k'os)
Helenius, Pulev and Glazkov are well, well above the rest. Not saying the others couldn't catch up, but these three are easily the front runners. I am interested in Ortiz as well. 6'4, power punching Southpaw with fast hands and 350 amatuer fights. Don't know much about him, but its a neat package of skills.
Man, I want to see Mike Perez get in the ring with Chisora. That would be fun to watch methinks. Both Price and Wilder have the physical attributes, but for decorated amateurs they are being moved extremely cautiously. Glazkov has probably done enough to be 8 or 9 on your list....if he beats Friday later this month, then 5th-7th. Also, if you're including 30 year old dudes like Povetkin and Pulev you may as well list Chisora and Arreola as well.
Yeah Glazkov beat Bakhtov in his 8th pro fight and is fighting Ahunaya next. The only guys with a better win are Helenius, Pulev and Povetkin. Boytsov win over Bidenko is probably on par although Bakhtov is more dangerous due to his power. Abdulsalamov should be on there too.
I am waiting to see what kind of Chin Seth Mitchell has. We already know Wilder has a very suspect Mandible.
Yeah, not the first time Zack Page has been the victim of a screwjob. Page really does separate the men from the boys.
