If Haye was to lose to Wlad where would you rank him amongst the HW's?

This is probably how I would have things looking.

    1. Wlad
    2. Vitali
    3. Adamek
    4. Povetkin
    5. Chambers
    6. Helenius
    7. Chagaev
    8. Thompson
    9. Haye
    10 Juan Carlos Gomez
    11. Solis

It'd depend on how he lost. A close decision, a stoppage after taking huge punishment while having his moments, or an early stoppage after putting up token resistance.

i cant image how this fight would be named a "close fight". Haye is winning it by knock out or losing badly by KO. If he runs he will get a lose and punish in time.

You'd drop him from 3/4 to 9th based on one loss to the number one fighter in the division? That's a bit harsh.

Not just the number 1 but someone who many consider to be in the p4p top 10. For that youd put him behind someone who when people talked about him fighting called it a mismatch (Chagaev).

If no one else does anything, it would only confirm he's number 3, for me.

If he would win even two rounds clearly I'd rate him 3rd.

Isn't that what happened to Chagaev, Solis, Peter and the like before him? The only reason he is ranked 3rd as it is is because of the WBA belt he has, his record is not better than that of those around him. A defeat would definately set him back a good few places.

Depends on how he loses. If its a good close fight id still have him at number 3.If its a whtewash on points or easy early KO for Wlad then Id have him below Povetkin,Adameck,Chambers and Chageav at number 7.

Yes, but Chambers and Chagaev were fighters who were ranked 3-5 and dropped to 6-7, they didn't drop a whole six places like you're saying Haye would. I'd definitely drop him below Adamek, and depending on the manner of said defeat is how I'll make my choice of where to put him after. It certainly won't be that low though.

Maybe, looking at his actual record I still find it hard to place him higher than Chagaev who at the end of the day has only lost once himself while he was ranked 3rd at the time.
