Anyone miss Margarito?

I love the type of fights you're talking about but I don't feel we need to support a man who could literally be guilty of attempted murder within a prize ring.

 

The video mocking Freddie Roach's Parkinsons ****ing turned my stomach, and that combined with the handwrapping incident mean I basically don't have much of an opinion of Margarito as a human being. Think he is a bit of a scumbag tbh.

BUT, you can separate the man from the boxer. SRR, Monzon, etc, not all (not many?) of the greats were choirboys outside the ring. Although Margarito was not a great fighter, he was a good one, and I have immense respect for the way he fought inside the ropes. It would've been very easy for him to fight like a ***** against Pacquiao the way that Mosley and Clottey did, but the man tried to win, tried to use his advantages, took risks, refused to be intimidated, refused to use his injuries as an excuse to quit, and in the process provided us with a great fight.

For that, if for nothing else, I'll always hold some degree of respect for Antonio Margarito.

This is true.. I remember people used to always talk **** about him for no reason.

 

Say what you will about the guy BUT he was the most avoided boxer for several years. Look at ***** Mayweather, he didn't want ANYTHING to do with Margarito.(And he still doesn't! I would bet that he would make Mayweather cry in his corner, and fail to answer the bell after round 4)
