If Cotto was "damaged goods" post-Margo, wouldn't he have crumbled vs Clottey?

Cotto has looked the same in a lot of his fights. Easy to hit, poor reaction to punches, and running out of steam late in fights. We saw signs of this before, during, and after his loss to Margarito.

they only propose catch weights for fighters that they perceive as a big enough threat

Thats not an unfair assessment, but I think we both agree that Cotto did not look great in the fight AT ALL.

Listen *******s, Pac is a better fighter than Cotto overall as far as skill, no doubt about it. But to say that he faced the BEST version of Cotto, or one that was not damaged, is just ridiculous.

Because Pac's last fight a few months before Cotto was at JrWW and he only weighed in at 138lbs.

    not really.

a JrWW against a WW at 145lbs, sounds fair.

If he was a JrWW, then he should have fought at Jr.WW. Especially since he fought at 147 before and afterwards.

No one was demanding that he fought Cotto (except Bob arum).

Cotto's done against elite fighters. He's still good enough to beat B level guys but against the best he can't hang. A cotto vs Clottey rematch would be great for both guys. Thought Clottey edged the first one.

Pick-em? I had Clottey at +210. Clottey lost the fight. He is not of champion material. Clottey had the advantage of an early head-butt and still could not capitalize. Clottey...is horrible. He is not the kind of guy you want to have your back if **** goes down.

And then there was his Paq fight that he claimed diarrhea, lack of sleep and who else knows what.

Since he cannot frustrate or hurt Cintron, I see him losing again. In fact, I can't wait to bet on that fight.

Bull****. Clottey would have always given cotto trouble . Cotto has problems with big guys who can take his punches and dish it back out. This fight was considered a tough match for Cotto by many people before the fight, and that had nothing to do with Cotto's recent loss. Styles make fights.
