I don't think he held too excessively in this fight, AA could've stopped some of that ****, he should've pushed Ward down a couple of times.

Agreed, didn't think this one was all that horrible. But I also agree w Barer-ian, that he's got little star power and that to most people, he's got a boring style to watch. Not a big fan of his at all, his style just ain't for me. He does win tho, guess that's what most people care about these days.

I thought it was a nice little performance from Ward.

I actually gave the first three rounds to AA so it was impressive to watch Ward simply shut it down round 4 onward. Very dominant.

Ward is old school. Gonna be very tough to beat and he can let him go as a Southpaw. That makes him bearable to watch. He has a lot more power short than he does from a distance. Interesting fighter and story. mad respect for him after tonight. He is gonna be too much for Froch or GJ.

    Much worse.

Both hold to avoid getting hit, but Wlad doesnt lead with his head or go dirty or engage in prolonged wrestling maneuvers as a regular part of his defense.

Maybe, but he is what he is. The guy can't just make himself entertaining spontaneously. If he could, he would. He is conscious of the fact that he could stand to put on more exciting fights.

His skills have always been impressive but were hampered by a negative/dirty style in the past. However, in this fight he was a lot more positive and it was entertaining enough to admire him for it.

Come on man, that's bogus. Ward is more aggressive in his fights, he just fights real dirty most of the time.

This was his most aesthetically pleasing performance to date, and most impressive as a whole after vs Kessler.

If he fights like this all the time (doubtful), i'd be a fan.

It aint wards fault abraham doesnt have the skills to make it interesting. ward executed perfectly. How was his style ugly tonight. Yall need to watch the fightt again. Abraham was holding wards arm even head sometimes. Thats not how you fight on the inside. Referee did a good job. Surprised so many of you cant decipher what just happened. Ward fought like a true champ.

Yeah, but it was only aesthetically pleasing in relation to the boring performances he usually puts on. True, he was effective. He had snap. He's resilient and strong-minded. But I've been watching boxing for 30 years now, and there are few fighters who are more frustrating and boring to watch than this dude. Great guy, but a soulless, pragmatic, un-crowd pleasing, style that is in no way old-school.
