Why Does Pacquiao Get No Love For The Brilliant Feints & Baits He Uses ?

I don't know of any fighter that can do this like Manny in the game today.
it is an art and it goes unappreciated by most.

This is overlooked by most of his opponents instead they worry about the speed or the power. These tools
allow him to use either, whichever opens up from the angles it creates. He is able to deceive opponents about distance and positioning.
it seems he has created his own style built upon both great boxers and martial arts legends keying in on distorting perception.
Roach seems to have no problem incorporating these techniques and helps him fine tune them to be appropriate against tons of different styles.
He is very hard to counter for the volume of punches he throws and a laser sharp counter puncher himself.

He obviously feints better as a result of PEDs and cherry-picked guys at 147.

The main reason is because so much emphasis is placed on his power, speed, stamina; raw characteristics and athleticism, that the subtleties are overlooked. Often "skills" have to be blatantly shown in order for people to acknowledge them, like what Floyd does.

I think he's good at making a fight messy, especially when the other guy is superior in some skills. That really helped him in his fights against some of the Mexicans.

Yha he fights for the 154 title and makes his opponent weight drain and not come in above 150 as he comes in at 144.5 Not to mention he has to eat 18,000 calories a day to even make 144.5 but thats his excuse so he can bulk up JMM when really they should fight at 140 all day

What irritates me more is that Pacquiao gets no appreciation whatsoever for the fact that he is one of the most astute, intelligent and accurate punch-selectors in the game. Pac and Roach seem to always identify what will be the most effective punch or punch sequence to land on a given opponent, and then Pac executes it flawlessly in action and often to devastating effect.

Pacquiao does not do what many fighters do and come out (a) swinging for the fences, or (b) just stick to the same repertoire he has always used and uses in every fight. He tailors his offence to suit every particular opponent, and always has the right punch to use at the right moment in his pocket, waiting to be unleashed.

If you look at the 1st and 3rd knockdowns against Hatton, the 2nd knockdown against Cotto, even the 2nd round KD in the 3rd Morales fight, Pac is not just wildly throwing leather and getting lucky, he clearly knows the defence and movements of his opponents, and picks the right shot at the right time to maximize impact.

Not many fighters are as adept at walking people onto the right punches as Manny Pacquiao is. Yes, he overwhelms people will volume and speed at times, but he is also very incisive and accurate with perfect single shots as well.

    Great post.

People look at his connect rate a lot of the misses are blinding jabs just set up shots. he wastes nothing everything he does is a plan a range finder. all have a purpose. i don't think any outside fighter at WW can beat him. You gotta go toe to toe to neutralize all his best skills. He throws a long left where he springs off his toes, they have to watch for that and then he gets em with the right hook or short punches. Soon as you stand in front of him you are the sucker. only style to give him a good fight is JMM. u need crisp combinations toe to toe or forget it.
