Have watched Arthur fight a parade of bums at middleweight. It is clear that he isn't going to be able to drop to 160 again .. simply too mature and his natural level is here now and no less. Wouldn't mind seeing him finally fight the now arriving Pavlik at 168. Also, a fight with Kessler would seem like it should be good business and have the potential for some fireworks. Mikkel is not extremely elusive and doesn't have quite the cave bear power of Froch so Arthur might be able to clip Kessler with one of his wild toughman competition swings and light the sky. Either way both fights would add a few coins into the respective fighter's pockets and answer a few questions for fans who have always contemplated the outcomes and wanted to see these matchups.
Oh, so now instead of the typical 30-40 fights against fighters who belong on the side of milk cartons, it might be 50-60? Don't worry, Sauerland will get AA a vacant title shot against Ronald Hearns or John Duddy.
After his big KO against Taylor many of his fans over hyped him. But the reality was he beat another middleweight moving up that win didn't prove a thing in terms of how he would compete with a true super middleweight which was why he has looked bad against Direll, Froch and Ward. Abraham's true level as been exposed he will need to make some drastic changes if he is to compete on the world level at 168lbs.
matchmaking and hometown cooking fortunately for him AA is the only one of his fighters that wanted to prove himself on the worldscene
What for being a small and rather ineffective supermiddle then yes, he was never really built for 168lbs.
Exactly the reason he wasnt successful at supermiddle and the reason why Wegner is the shittest coach ive ever seen. The reason he was successful at 160lbs was he had the power and muscle to outstength and intimidate his opponents, Wegner must be very ****ing niave if he thought the same gameplans would work against much larger opponents, he imo is probably more to blame than AA.
I'm embarrased to say that he was my pick to win the Super Six. I just can't seem to consistently remember the lesson I learned (temporarily) with Hagler vs' Leonard. Speed and ability trump power all the time. Boxers are tough men but boxing isn't a tough man competition. If you lock Abraham in a room with any of the SS competitiors with no gloves he wins IMO, but that isn't the game.
If people don't give Abraham the respect for joining the super six - they are simply no boxing fans................. period...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Abraham did very well back in Germany - like every other "normal" fighter. Kalle Sauerland came up with this tournament, and Abraham decided to join in. Abraham - a well known champ - was willing to go to 168 to fight the best. He took on Taylor, fought Dirrell in the US, took on Froch in Finland and traveled to fight Ward in US. Abraham could have stayed at home fighting smaller fighters (like the atg US-fighters does) but he took on the challenge and if you don't give him credit for that.......................you are all ****............:twisted:
i disagree with that he beats guys like mcgee andrada and pryor jr and lots of other top 15 hes still in the top 7 imo
Exposed maybe but it also shows that he is too small for the super middle's ..Hell Martinez would be to small for these guys ..
