...and if any two fighters have an edge over Abraham stylistically, it's Ward and Dirrell. Froch is the one who had to fight in a completely different style to how we've seen him before at an elite level and he managed to do a far better job. Everyone knew that Dirrell and Ward would be a lot of trouble for Abraham stylistically, which is why they were favoured, whereas Froch was considered the underdog by many because of his come forward style.

I know the usual answer to threads like these is that "styles make fights" and I totally agree, they do. However, in these three fights, Froch is the one who had the least advantage stylistically so it makes him schooling Abraham even more impressive.

So...can we please drop this "caveman" ****? Abraham has lost to three guys in a row. Two were dreadful for him stylistically, yet he gave them fewer problems than he gave to Froch, who never got out of second gear.

Froch is far more than a crude slugger. He may not be a "slick, black American" but he is a better technical fighter than anyone who has ever called him "crude" can imagine.

Froch is good for boxing - whoever disagrees is an idiot.

Froch probably had the best performance.

But they all had a lot of significant advantages.

18 Months ago, people were saying Froch was one dimensional, had no defence, and some were even questioning his chin !!!!
Thing with Froch is,you never know which version of him is gonna show up.I'm sure if he gets past Johnson he'll win the super 6,AA was giving Ward problems in the first few rounds, but he gassed.Froch is bigger, stronger,a better boxer, and he most certainly won't gas.

I agree that Froch's technical skills surpass what most originally gave him credit for, myself included. In fact, he's a "B" quality boxer in my opinion with an "A" quality chin and heart.

While I favor Ward in any potential match-up, I do so by the slimmest of margins.

I made a thread about this ages ago. Froch was very successful as an amateur in Britain, hes got class (even if it doesnt look like he does often) hes just relies on his power and chin more than he needs to. He admits that AA was the first fight where he listened to his trainer for the whole fight and didnt get dragged into a War and it was a shut out. I think Ward/Froch is a 60-40 kind of fight with Ward the slight favourite.

Watching the fight I give Froch a better chance than I did originally.

Ward has zero ****ing balls. Zero. I doubt he'll have any offense against Froch and will probably stick to counter punching and doing that dirty clinch/headbutt/uppercut crap.

If it happens, Ward needs to fight Froch in Nottingham and have to deal with a hostile croud and a biased ref who won't let him get away with half of the crap he pulls. Yes I said biased ref, so then he will have to truly show his talent and really outclass Froch.

Yes, they do and if two people were to have easy nights with Abraham, it would be Ward and Dirrell. "Styles make fights" proves my argument that Froch is severely underrated, it doesn't prove the point that he should have had an easier night with Abraham than Dirrell and Ward did.

Out of all three match ups, Dirrell and Ward are the ones with the huge physical and stylistic advantages.

Yep. Abraham won one round on 3 scorecards against Froch, and even that was debateable. Against Dirrell he won a round or two with his aggression late on, and knocked down and hurt Dirrell. Andre looked shaky in the late rounds, before the DQ. Against Ward Abraham arguably won 3 rounds early on (won 2 on two scorecards) and staggered Ward late on.

All 3 comfortably outboxed Abraham, Froch did it with the most ease.
