David Haye is very popular in Europe and is getting attention in the U.S as well. My question is can Haye become as popular as Frank Bruno was?

I think he could have similar popularity but he'll never be seen as Bruno was. Naz was hugely popular but he didn't have the same type of appeal that Bruno had either. The only person to come close to that sort of popularity was Ricky Hatton. The public had a very high opinion of those two. Haye, like Naz, is popular but he isn't the nice, humble guy the British have a special affection for.

To be popular with his countrymen he will have to lose to Vlad! And remember, Eddy the Eagle rules!:good

Most people hadn't really heard of Bruno til he had the audacity to challenge Tyson....his popularity went up by leaps and bounds on the strength of that fight, and he rocked the guy too

Haye is taking on a guy that most people in the UK have never heard of, and those that have heard of him have seen him get KO'd 3 times. Haye won't reach Bruno's level of popularity for that reason alone, because he's not fighting a monster, he's fighting a glass jawed *****. Even if Haye wins he won't reach Bruno's popularity levels, nor Lewis's.

wait according to widdow maker haye is only known in the UK because of the whole klitschko incident at bluewater and his 'friends' here told him klitschkos are known by the general public in the UK.

If a fight vs Vitali happens after Haye KO's Wlad, he might because it will get everyone interested in the HW's once again.

You poms are such wankers you will probably stone Vlad if he beats Haye ,but Haye will only become more popular like when Enwee Coopa got his face turned to mince by Ali!:-(

Haye hasn't even fought on HBO ever and on Showtime only once. Nobody in the States knows or cares who he is. People actually knew who Bruno was mainly for him falling apart in fights.

no... because Bruno was a man of the people and a likeable fella... Haye is more of a loudmouth and the Brits dont seem to warm to the classless, flashy dudes like him. Also, Bruno was a bit odd and people always love a weirdo. Bruno also fought in a period with good HW's...
