****ing hell Clazaghe still getting ****, he's been retired a while now time to let it go. He beat Hopkins fair and sqaure nothing is changing that. Move on.

It's funny how Calzaghe's haters choose to forget Ottke wouldn't even take the fight in Germany and Hopkins priced himself out of a deal he had already agreed to in the early 00's.

I now have him at 52-0 with projected wins over Pavlik, Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Mayorga, and Forrest (to be 53-0 once Hopkins beats Pascal). I'm also not sure who the white bloke you keep posting is, but he looks like he's in terrible shape for a boxer and would not be able to handle Joe's workrate. I thought you were trying to question Calzaghe's legacy, not further enhance it :think

is convinced Joe Calzaghe would have bashed up all the super middleweights in the 90s golden era.

Former WBC champion Benn led the British assault on the worlds 12-stone division along with Chris Eubank, Steve Collins and Michael Watson.

But Benn says Calzaghe, who bids to unify the IBF and WBO titles when he fights American Jeff Lacy in the early hours of Sunday morning, would have more than held his own.

Benn, now living in Majorca, said: Id have loved to have fought Joe.

I reckon hed have given all of us a good going over. He is as good as we were, but the shame is hes had no one really to test himself against.

It will be different this weekend because I rate Lacy.

He has fast hands and packs a heavy punch but his chin has yet to be tested Joe will do that.

Lacy reckons Joes a slapper in the ring but I can tell you that Joes slaps hurt.

Joe craves respect but you only get that by beating the best. Dont get me wrong, I rate Joe highly, hes without doubt the best but I wish hed been busier.

The occasional fighter has had a good go at Joe and its in these bouts Joe has shown his outstanding boxing ability and finished them off with the killer instinct of a top, top performer.

Itll be good to see Joe in with a real livewire and I believe it will be a real ******* of a fight one of the best for years.

Calzaghe was due to fight Lacy last year but it was postponed when he damaged a hand.

Hand and elbow injuries have dogged 32-year-old Calzaghes career, restricting him to six bouts in the past three years.

Some say those injuries have helped prolong unbeaten Calzaghes career but Benn would have liked to have seen him in action a lot more.

Benn, 42, added: In my time, Joe would hardly have had time to draw breath.

If it was not me, Eubank would have been at the top of the queue and then Collins, backed up by Watson.

If he didnt fancy any of us Brits, then the Yanks would have been willing to give him a pay day, fighters like Iran Barkley.

When Joe beats Lacy, people will say they always knew he could fight like that only it should have been more often. One of them will go down, thats for sure.

I am predicting a real hammer and tongs fight, toe to toe because Joe wants respect and Lacy aint gonna give it to him for free.

And, this year could also see Andre Ward crowned as the Super Six tournament winner, and then a huge unification fight with undefeated Lucian Bute surely can't be far off.

If Ward beats the Froch/Johnson winner to be the last man standing of the Super Six, and then cleans up the division by taking Bute's zero, he will have surpassed Joe in terms of resume AND matched him in terms of achievement (arguably exceeded) in much, much less time than it took the Welshman.

Therefore, are 2011 and 2012 going to be the years where Joe's paper achievements take the massive hit they were always going to be susceptible to?

Is he going to be remembered as just another Sven Ottke in time? :huh

He didn't even deserve the decision he got against Bhop's old ass. Calzaghe is not an ATG. Two wins against decent competition does not make a special career.

I just don't get the Calzaghe-bashing. He was a good boxer. He worked every minute of every round. He retired with a clean 46-0 -- no draws, no NDs, and only two SDs -- after unifying his division and capturing the linear title one division up. He beat everyone in front of him in the division where he spent his career.

Yes, his hands were fragile. No, he didn't take the fantasy fight you might have preferred with guys who weren't there to be fought.

Whaddya want? Watch his fights. If you're not impressed, it's your loss, but why the obsession?

just rewatched the fight between Calzaghe and Hopkins and other than the first 3 rounds Calzaghe was beatinh bhop to the punch most of the fight. Bhop bitched only just after the fight but at the end of joe's career it was froch calling him out. Bhop was no where to be found. (he was picking on a drunk pavlik)

Maybe as Ward and Frochare in line to surpass him ..One thing that Joe had on them though was that he was the undisputed super middleweight champ ..It be nice for one of these guys to do that before the go north to lt heavy
