PPV was far less available in the early/mid 90s as opposed to now.

There were still a fair few PPV's in the 90's but I think the difference was the quality of matchups and fighters the late 90's we were spoilt really Tyson Lewis and to some extent Hamed were PPv worthy and fought in big fights that were PPv worthy

Most of their subsequent fights were PPV but they built their reputation and earnt that PPv status because they fought in big fights Bruno Tyson, Tyson Holyfield, Lewis Holyfield, Naz Kelley.

People would buy into the fighters after they became big stars because of their showing in big fights. Now we have a situation where Khan Degale Clev etc are all on PPV but are yet to be involved in a truely big fight.

Interesting that Tyson is the only foreign boxer to warrant a ppv without a brit involved

Good list but its still missing some cards. One instantly comes to mind.

The first PPV i purchased was in 1997 Hamed vs Hardy and Robin Reid defending his WBC title against Wharton on the undercard.

Tyson vs Francis, Golota, and Saverese were all on PPV as well

    Every Naz fight post 97
Every Tyson fight post 95 (except his final one i think)
    Every Lewis fight post 96

The Hamed vs Badillo/Calzaghe vs Eubank card was on SBO according to Calzaghe's autoiography.
