Blown-up Super Middleweight vs Mr. MegaTon Right hand (just another reason for Roy to stay down at 175 lb range)
I don't know, Vincent Rondon went 10-round distance with Shavers AFTER he'd been blown away in 2 by Bob Foster, I think. And I believe RJJ was a better boxer than Rondon. Shavers didn't knock 'em all out - and most his KOs were over typical tomato cans. Stil, at his best he applied a substantial degree of pressure on his opponents, and Jones doesn't really have the reach to stay safe in this one. Obviously it's not the kind of fight RJJ would take, in real life.
Well, Jimmy Ellis nearly pulled off the First round Ambush, An Jerry Quarry of course Did, so i suspect Roy would be thinking of a similar Speed Raid, however Roy will not want to stay in the Danger zone for one second longer then neccessary, So Earnie had better be prepared to go hunting, if the Shavers who sauntered his way through the first Henry Clark turns up, then Roy may have some hope that he can stay half a Step ahead, but he is not a heavyweight, so will be manhandled in any clinches, and if the Earnie who pounced on Henry Clark (2nd) or Norton turns up, then i think he will find Jones, Hurt him, probably with one punch, then the hope is a merciful Ref is qick off the Mark to Intervene, I wouldnt like to see Roy take the type of Uppercut that Filletted Ellis, or Damaged Howard Smith. - One Punch from Earnie can turn any fight, and this fight in particular.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Earnie was an intelligent slugger, who I expect would be hurling his right into Roy's body from the outset. Rondon was somehow able to survive Earnie, but Vincente was 6'3" to RJJ's 5'11" and Shavers had an 80 inch reach to Roy's 74 inches. Jones physically does not measure up to the template of anybody who survived a prime Acorn. He'd get crushed after enjoying some fleeting success, and only a single shot would be required as the finisher, from either a left or a right. The only question is how many body shots does he take first? Earnie had the kind of power to do damage to arms or any other part of the anatomy, not only with scoring blows. Roy's best chance is not to get hit at all anywhere, and I just can't see him avoiding punishment altogether with his lack of stature.
Just the tell tale rumor of one of Shaver's rights fired in the direction of Roy's chin would be enough to hurt and deck him..seriously, Shavers would just obliterate Jones...the folly of it all for Jones to have tried this one.
shavers would win , ruiz landed at least one decent shot to the head of jones , when shavers lands its a whole different game and result
wow! some analysis. you have to figure shavers catches up to jones at some point but i wouldn't totally rule jones out of running to a decision. i think shavers would actually have to hit jones to stop him, not just the "rumor" of his punches would stop jones. what a dumb ass.
but the same point that people use to trash jones' chances can be used to defend him: we don't know. we have absolutely no idea how jones would do against most heavyweights. bob foster had zero success at heavy, but a glass chinned moorer had huge success. there really is no surefire formula for determining success
Don't be so damned literal-minded you dumb twat...geez, you have to just spell some things out for some people..get that silly **** about Jones having a chance out of your head..Shavers would put Jones to sleep.
