Oh we know you didn't stop reading until you got to the end. Lying isn't gonna make you feel any better.
Peak, Tyson in the prime was 1 gr8 fighter . n surely more tested then Vitali KlitschKO. I will Pick Tyson by TKO in mid rounds.
Bruno doesn't belong with Tucker and Vitali. He didn't just lose to Tyson and Lewis, he also lost to fat declining Witherspoon and Bonecrusher(who lets face it, was not very good), and only managed one shaky win over a ranking fighter..a god awful McCall.
Vitali would probably lose to Witherspoon. Bruno was a very good boxer. Would be interesting to see him against Vitali. He hung with Lewis pretty good and I think Vitali's power is overrated, so Bruno could conceivably beat him in a boxing match.
Tyson's management in my opinion avoided Witherspoon. Burno beating Vitali in a boxing match. Are you serious? Burno lacks the skills to land on a hard to hit vitali, and has no where near the stamina.
What did Witherspoon do to warrant a title shot during Tyson's reign And Bruno definitely lands on Vitali early and hurts him. He did at least that much in all of his fights (minus the Tyson rematch :scaredas.
Bruno was a guy who ran out of gas, did not have good confidence, and didn't take the best punch. Sure he lands on vitali early and takes him out. NOT! Witherpsoon had wins over Tubbs, Smith, and Bruno. Tyson fought more shop worn versions of the three in title shots, yet he did not give one to the man ( Witherpsoon ) who beat then before he did? Something is not quite right here. Yet you laugh? Whatever. Timmy starched Quick Tills in 1....Tyson had his hands full with Tills, and took him the distance, likely losing 3-4 rounds along the way. Witherpsoon could fight. He had good defense, a hard right hand, a good jab, a good chin, some size and might have literally beaten Douglas to the punch if given the chance. But he was black balled by Don King, and shut of of Tyson's title reign even though he certainly deserved a shot.
Tyson also smashed Thomas, who, evidently, beat Spoon. Spoon had his chance and blew it against Smith in the HBO tournament. That's his own fault.
Well, the TKO loss in one round to to Smith is fishy. Keep in mind Witherpsoon easily beat Smith in the first fight. It could have been a dive. Don King who had a ton of power in the mid 1980's black balled Witherpsoon after this fight, freezing him out of top level fights. Witherpsoon's house was robbed on the same night he lost to Smith. The Thomas loss was a very close. But what about 'Spoon beating Smith, Tubbs, Page, Broad, Bruno, and Williams? Smith, Tubbs, Bruno, and Williams got a title shot vs. Tyson...yet the man who beat them did not. My point is Witherspoon certainly did enough to warrant a title shot with Tyson. I think team Tyson avoided him.
If Witherspoon wouldnt have lost to Smith he would have fought Tyson in the unification series. Spoon was basically blackballed out of boxing after that loss. It wasnt fishy, it was just Spoon was all screwed up with his management and promoter. He should have just kept winning, he was the champ.
I totally agree, but you cant seem to get that into peoples heads Vitalis whole aura of invincibility is based on his one magical fight where he proved his granite chin and power by losing to an old Lennox Lewis. Tysons too small for Vitali, But Chris Byrd wasnt when he made Vitali quit Tyson did not duck Spoon, Spoon lost to Smith and that basically put him out of the picture. Also Spoon was managed by Carl King and Promoted by Don
