I havent heard nothing from you guys? British guy fighting for a world title next month and I have seen nothing on esb. Looks like a good fight. Sturm is the best 160 out there. Fights in germany and packs arenas, has a great thing going there.

Well maybe it's the predictable outcome of the fight, I don't think Macklin would even be given that much exposure if he won.

He really needed the Barker fight, would have done big numbers on Sky and thus plenty of exposure.

Maybe Macklin doesn't enjoy the same sort of popularity our other fighters do? Sturm will UD him, by a very comfortable margin.

the consesus is a shutout UD or late KO by Sturm....no one give Macklin much of a chance hence it hasn't been a hot topic.

I'd really love to see Sturm vs. better opposition but with his tv-deal and how the things work here in Germany it won't happen.
Martinez vs Sturm would be awesome but why should Adnan take the risk if he is able to pack stadiums vs Ronald Hearns etc.
    Pretty sad imo.

I think so too but we will never know or see it since nobody in Germany knows Martinez and therefore the fight will never happen.
Sturm sure as hell wont go to the US again after the DLH-robbery.

I never thought of it like this. Are opinions are shaped by the networks we are exposed to.

He regards himself as Irish despite being born in England. That's fine, but it's not going to endear him to anyone here, and he doesn't fight in Ireland very often so I doubt he's much more popular there. He's not particularily popular round Birmingham/West Midlands because he hasn't been promoted as an English/Brummie fighter.

Not true:nono Sturm actually isnt is great as so many think his reputation has been built on the controversial loss to Delahoya.Actually Sturm was lucky ODLH was chubby and out of shape, because if not hed just be known as another ODLH victim... There is no doubt if the same Oscar that fought B=Hop showed up , that he would have won decisively vs Sturm..

That's the **** that you get with those hundreds of titles out there, Sat1 can make their audience believe that Sturm and Stieglitz are the hottest thing ever, after all they are the "World Champions" right?
In all the other sports like soccer etc. there is only one World Champion and that is what they want you to believe, that Sturm is not "a" champion but "the" champion.
I'm german and I can tell you, 95% of the audience don't even know the name Sergio Martinez.
Therefore we will never see Sturm or Stieglitz up their opposition, to the audience it makes no difference if they are fighting Martinez or Macklin, they don't know either.
It's really sick and it has to change.
