Can you name me Boxer who started there pro career under 18 years old?

    in rescent time. in the past it used too be normal, but does it happen today, 80's, 90's, 2000's +?

    except pac =)

    and is it illegal in usa or europe too start pro bxing under 18 years old?

    Margarito. I think he was about fifteen-sixteen. I'm blanking on notable recent examples. My brain is full of the old examples like Baby Arizmendi and Freddie Steele. I'll think about it some more.


    Edit: :patsch And Barrera! I think about the same age as Margo was.

    Lots of mexicans turn pro before 18. Saul Alvarez for sure.

    are the rules the same in mejico, than usa or europe?

    I mean if you win a gold medal in olympia, age 17, than you wanna go pro, do you have too wait until your 18 birthday or can you box pro right away (europe & usa rules)?

    didnt Marvin Sonsona win a world title at 19-20 in the lower weight categories, i imagine he turned pro early. It dosnt happen as often these days but there are exceptions especially in poorer countries where a boxer will make more money turning pro.

    Most talents in USA, England etc are told to stay amateur and try and win a few things there to make them more marketable when they turn pro, plus they learn the trade a bit better and can turn pro as fully developed adults

    lots of mexicans Barrera turned pro a 15 and Morales at 16 if im not mistaken.

    Olivares really deserves more recognition by far one of the top ten if not top 5 best bantamweights ever and never gets talked about.
