watch those slow motion rounds against Marquez ... it shows just how good Pacquiao is at blocking and dodging shots.

but his offense is good enough to not worry about his defensive flaws

Pac's defense is underrated because it pales in comparison to his offense.

For the amount of punches he throws and comittment to offense you
can argue his defense is highly underrated.
A guy like void who throws so few punches to get caught wide
open vs his only true Welter test in 3-4 years + makes him the
    most overrated defensively @ WW.

I think this is a better assessment. Saying that his offense is his defense is just another example of underrating his defense. That's just saying that because he keeps punching and his shots are hard and accurate, his opponents end up not punching enough for Pac to worry about defense (that was only true for Clottey and Mosley). But the thing is, besides just punching a lot like some people think, he also has good head movement, he always keeps his hands up and parries a lot of shots. He uses his foot speed to quickly get out of range of shots. Again, he aint no Whitaker but this is not just a case of simple "his offense is his defence", he has an actual defense that is pretty good but it just really doesn't compare to his offense.

I feel he has an average defense.

Manny had a perforated ear drum against Cotto, and even against Margo, his face was marked up.

Manny holds his hands high and moves head side to side in a predictable rhythm, so he can be timed with lead right hands, and because he has his hands glued to the side of his head, he's wide open up the middle.

When do you see Manny parrying the jab with his right hand? his gloves defense is virtually non existent at times imo, which is why he's also prone to getting hit with jabs imo.

If you watch closely, Lewabda was too for out, he wasn't even committing himself to that punch, it was more a case of him measuring the range, like he was trying to draw a lead so he could counter, I'm talking about someone who snaps the jab, and pushes in of the backfoot with intent to land it.

This makes for a good watch. Pac's defence isn't bad at all.

(Although the vid creator's bias against jabs is ridiculous.)
