what makes you so sure it would be such a bad fight. williams got knocked out in his last fight. ishida knocked someone out in their last fight. i know there were extraneous circumstances like kirkland's glass jaw and ishida likely resolve being from the recently devastated osaka, but who knows. who predicted all the upsets we've seen this year?

Ishida doesn't need to be in this position yet, I mean lets be honest with each other here, people aren't going to tune in to see this. Williams needs a solid opponent and this doesn't fit the bill.

    The whole system is wrong.

PW should take a purse cut, get back on an HBO undercard, and fight Ishida who at least looked good on TV in his last fight. Instead he will go for a tougher opponent because he wants the big HBO purse, while he should get the wheel turning slowly.

ESPN should pick this up. Who knows, maybe Ishida shocks us again?

Good for HBO, but why did they think this was a good idea in the first place?

Williams/Ishida is fine, as we've been saying, but it ideally would be the first of three fights. I wish HBO would invest in the occasional triple header. You don't need a huge main event that way, just something decent.

I thought Ishida was supposed to fight Kirkland again in a do or die fight for Kirkland?

Why is Greenburg still not getting his @ss fired yet?

I thought HBO is cleaning up its act and getting rid of Haymon and his chum Kery Davis?

Both are former world champs so I don't see to much problem for a comeback fight.

Williams talks big, but he turned down fights with Dzinzurik and Latimore. I don't think Latimore even deserved to be on an HBO main event. The money Paul's getting paid could be going to far more deserved fights than the Ishida one. If Paul's not ready for a real fight, he shouldn't fighting on HBO.
