I actually wanted to see this fight but I understand HBO's decision. Personally I think Williams would wax Ishida. People are getting carried away with his win over Kirkland. He's still the same guy with several losses to mediocre opponents and a 25% KO ratio coming into that fight which told a lot more about Kirkland then it did Ishida.

It's definitely not main event material but i still think it would be a good fight for a Williams comeback and Ishida definitely deserves the opportunity so I hope the fight still gets made.

Williams has always been a HBO goldenboy, I guess they want a stronger opponent instead of Ishida, I mean come on he got cold cocked by the number 3 active p4p in the world at least fight Cintron again, a fight which I think he would lose.

This is exactly what will happen to Bradley if he thinks he can fight a tomato can under the HBO contract of $1.5 Mil in his next fight.

HBO will still need to approve match ups.

once donaire is free of top rank, I can see him being the next HBO superstar, although Martinez is making a case right now.

Word is that Greenburg's and Davis' bosses reversed the decision. This is a step in a good direction. That being said, don't get me wrong, Williams vs. Ishida was a good fight, but it was in no way an HBO headliner. No way in hell.

you know what lets just friggin make Williams/Martinez 3 already

Chavez will beat Zbik and vacate his title because he wont go near Martinez if Sergio decides he wants his WBC title back.

If Chavez/Martinez doesnt happen then its going to be Martinez/Manfredo or Martinez/Rubio in October and who wants to see that crap?

Where I think that HBO made the right decision, i don't think Paul should be pressured into fighting another beast like Martinez. We need to see if he still has he "sea legs".

When a fighter gets viciously knocked out like P Will did, he deserves to take it as slowly as he feels necessary.

The punisher has always given the fans of boxing exciting fights and he has never ducked anyone to fight a "lesser" opponent.

I wish Floyd had the same cojones, Boxing would be the biggest sport on the planet right now!!

I think Ishida is the perfect opponent for Williams and I think Paul will have a little trouble against the 6'1" japanese fighter.
