I think it's more whose body naturally can cope with the extra weight, its clearly Pac, no doubt a lot of it is due to the age difference but also a lot to do with genetics.

Making 135 the day before a fight = best JMM at this stage in his career

If Marquez were training for a fight at 135, then two weeks before the fight it was decided that the fighters won't have to weigh-in, do you think Marquez would drain to 135 the night before and then rehydrate on fight day?

    Pacquiao's last fight: 145lbs
    Marquez's last fight: 145lbs

How are they not the same size? What the fighters weigh in at is not important.

yeah.... people forget that Pacquiao isnt really a Welterweight. He really isnt a Lt. Welterweight either. He's by trade & frame, a Lightweight who packed on a few more muscle pounds to fight Welterweights.

People saying that he needs to fight Sergio Martinez to impress them is smoking crack. Maybe.... if he was a TRUE Welterweight. Some of the past oversized Welterweights he's fought (Cotto, Clottey, Margarito) drops 13-17lbs to make it into the official weight or catchweight. If Manny dropped some of the excess muscle and did the same, he'd make it into Lightweight.

Back in the day, their fights were epic, and their fighting style & will complemented each other. Im afraid Marquez is a bit old for the type of fight Manny is going to bring again. I saw a Marquez who had a hard time pulling the trigger vs Mayweather. You think this was the same Marquez who fought thru Manny's onslaught and countered through so successfully? Manny is still in prime fighting age where Marquez is not. Then again, maybe Manny's aggression really feeds into Marquez's also.

Pacquiao's side has pushed the weight boundary as far as they can against Marquez to a catchweight of 144. Of course it wont be at Lightweight. But 4 months prior to this fight, he's fighting David Diaz at 135 - this spells disaster for him. Personally, i'd drop the Diaz fight and give up the belt for the Pacquiao fight. Manny wont have to cut down on the muscles he picked up to feasibly contend against Welterweights.

Manny has a BIG edge..... because he's fought BIG guys. Guys 2 to almost 3 weight classes bigger than Marquez's. This means Manny has adjusted to the power these guys bring. WAIT....... so we've seen Manny push around these oversized welterweights for the past couple years, and now he's fighting a true Lightweight now? BIG edge for Pacquiao competition-wise. Could it be possible he may just steamroll thru Marquez because he doesnt present such a physical challenge as other welterweights were? Possibly....

It's quite simple, Manny has far more muscle density than Marquez who looks soft in the body and top heavy at the weight. I think Marquez will do well but if I had to wager the benefits on fight night of time spent drinking **** instead of taking a cycle of steroids I would say Manny is going to win explosively in the mid rounds.

My heart wants it to a tough contest for twelve though just to have a point proven.
