Lets judge that press conference fairly

What Bellew was saying was fair enough. Who else would have stepped in that late and risked losing that zero that boxers care so much about?

Though I agree it's not looking good for him :-( Stranger things have happened...

What Clev was saying was also true. Don't use it as an excuse.

I think theres one thing we can all agree on. DeGale looked like a mug getting fed lines by his trainer.

    Jim Mc constantly whispering in Degale's ear was pathetic, tits forgot the mics were on clearly it was like a reverse echo;
"George's got no chin George's got no chin innit."

Sort of see what Rob is saying re: Clev/Bellew, they're both slating each other off and its beautiful. Skimmed over other threads and theres a lot of debate on whether people'd rather Clev fight Braemer or Bellew. I sure has hell know in hindsight who Warrens happier with now. Tony isnt near the challenge Braemer would've been, different levels right now but there'll be a lot of late money chucked into buying this ppv now you got 2 all british title fights (of varying degree of course) with needle.

As for the press conference its no shock seeing Tony so agitated, dont buy what he says about weight being an issue of course it is. It always is you can see how gaunt he is at 175, this is exacerbated by the short notice. Clev's anger was strange to see, if he keeps his head he'll survive the early bombs and take bomber 2nd half but Nathan'd be smart (maths de..leave it) to not get amped up or he'll walk onto that bombing right hand and lose his title he'l only have had for a couple of days. Clev to in still for me, great presser is that wager with Degale-Groves allowed btw i assume its not with the betting legalites right?

I dunno, but fighters having side wagers is even older than the sport itself. Goes back to the bare knuckle days. I guess the real problems would start if a boxer bet on himself to lose!!!

Side wagers have been going on for yonks and many a promoter/boxer/trainer has won/lost a lot of money betting on themselves to win.

If i remember rightly Mickey Duff won something like £30k betting on Honeyghan to win the Curry fight. Honeyghan also won a few quid betting on himself as well at odds of 5/1 against

cleverly should be ****ing thankful that bellew stepped it to help this fight go ahead:

    - if he hadnt then clev would be fighting an unknown and get 0 credit for a win
    - or kenny anderson (no offence to anderson but hes done less than bellew to deserve a world title shot)
    - less be honest, apart from the welsh no1 really gave a **** about the braehmer fight: even BN had GG-JDG on the cover despite giving it 4 stars and clevs fight 5stars
    - its an easier fight anyway

call me cynical, i think bellew is only half serious with his antics. He likes Warren and he knows fine his behaviour will help sell more PPV's.

To a casual fan, who the **** are you going to remember and be interested in????
A boring guy talking in cliches or a fired up dude badmouthing his opponent and getting aggressive. its obvious

Bellew by KO, he has the 1-shot power to stop Clev & there's no way Clev will stop Bellew

Clev has been preparing for a shorter, more experienced southpaw instead of that he's got the bomber

Dont be too surprised when Clev mentally falls apart before getting KOd badly

This. Frank would likely have been encouraging them to carry on like that. I got a text from a mate earlier on asking how good Clev and Bellew are after he'd seen the press conference on SSN.

Cleverley rather than rubbishing Bellew should have been thanking him because Clev was nearly left without a fight.

He kept saying no excuses tony...but in honesty its a pretty good excuse isnt it. Bellew has trained for this and is doing it with 48 hours notice.

That being said i hope Cleverley smashes Bellews face in. He thought he was hard kicking off like that and hes going to get destoryed for it. Cocky Scouse ****

Surely its llyandrulldi or something like that? :yep

Yes, but with some exceptions SS:deal

Didnt like Clev as a boxer, now I genuinely dislike him as a person

Really hope Bellew wins but if he doesnt I will have a Cleverly avatar for a week to show I'm sorry for all my Welshist posts
