These are only the UK PPV figures it did about 850k in the states so still about 1.3 million cumulatively which isnt bad. Though Mayweather Hatton cumulatively did about 2million with UK and US.

You have to remember when thinking of those figures they are outstanding because these fights were on at half 4 in the morning.

Haye Valuev had some great advantages in that respect. It was at 10pm on a Sat and a heavyweight fight and Haye did a great job selling it and of course the obvious 7ft 2 freak angle of Valuev.

I'm not 100%, but I think it was just after they became a subscription channel, but were still offering an occasional PPV service as well. So they had the fight for subscribers, but if you didn't sub to them, you could watch the fight as a PPV.

Something tells me the offer was that if you brought the PPV, they chucked in a free sub for the channels for a couple of months as well.

They went through a phase of stumping up and pulling out all the stops to get some really decent fights. They could afford to do it because they spent very little money on actually showing the fight, they had no customer service to speak of.

I knew it wouldn't last, LOL...

Setanta paying crazy money again mate. I am wondering how many Hatton fans who never had setanta actually bothered subscribing. Even if they did, I bet they all cancelled after 30 days.

Funny thing was that I remember Setanta saying they had a 3 fight deal with Hatton. Hatton must have had a get out clause as he went back to Sky ASAP!

Setanta charged £15 for the hatton v castillo which gave you a month subscription or they charged £19.95 for a one off ppv. £19.95 was crazy!!

£15 with a free subscription, or £20 without makes no sense. Still, Hatton going right back to Sky says a lot.
