Ive heard Warren is fuming about the way Bellew took him for a mug not to mention the fans, i think Bellew knew all along he could'nt make the weight, Bellew 1st mistake was leaveing Farnell the 2nd was trying to mug Warren off :nono
Hes lied, simple as that, given all he said and done today. You can judge what sort of character he is from today. **** him.
He did look **** in that presser tho tbf, he probably was trying to get the weight off but was too much to drop in such a short time. not always a cynical reason
The chap lied and showed that he is dishonest. He owes the fans an apology for his actions in my opinion. I'm totally devastated and it has really put me on a downer as I was looking forward to the fight as were many others. I bought the PPV earlier and now I'm left 20 quid out of pocket. Is Bellew going to refund my 20 quid? Absolute tosser cost me money today with his lies
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Warren knew the situation and just drafted Bellew in to get some for exposure for the event. Call me cynical, but something's not right.
Time wasting ****! We can all appreciate how much he 'wants' to fight Clev but he's taken the **** BIG style. Why say the weight wouldn't be a problem when it was, all he's achieved is that he's made himself look a complete & utter desperate wannabe deluded mug. PATHETIC. Clev would have schooled him anyway.
At the end of the day none of us have any idea what the crack is.... he was called up at the last minute and missed the weight. End of story. What they could have done is put an embargo on everybody until they weighed him - which could have been done yesterday. It's just made Warren and Sky look like mugs. To me, Bellew saw an opportunity and decided to go for it - it's not ideal but he's got some free publicity for himself if nothing else.
To be fair, today's events don't change my opinion. I want Ovill to win because he was disgustingly bum dealed in their first fight.
+1 At least Bellew was putting his balls on the table to try and get that weight off. If Cleverly was half as keen he would have accepted the fight at a catchweight. Warren was all 'it isnt fair on Nathan to fight at a heavier weight' but it was absolutely fine to get Bellew to try and shift a lot of weight with three days notice.
Yeah.... both Tony and Nathan are unfortunate in all this, and I can see both points of view. Cleverly needed an opponent and accepted Tony at short notice, who couldn't make the weight. He's well within his rights to say no. Bellew was called up, put the sweat suit on and went down to London.... and then offered to fight at a catchweight. So he's entitled to feel pissed off that he was rejected.
