He comes across like a complete ****. No respect what so ever. At least Booth don't get involved in the childish talk of Groves - Degale.

And jim macdonell does come across like a bit of a wanker. Does not show too much respect. If degale turns out to be next mayweather his attitude might be justified until then he will always come across like an arrogant shitheel

He appears irritating but would I rather have him or Booth in this situation? Him every time.

He makes his fighter believe in himself at all times and always has their back. Booth was totally silent.

When DeGale was proposing the bet, Booth should have had a quiet word with Groves and make it clear that it's a tough fight to call and no-one should be betting silly money, on themselves or otherwise.

Backing out of a bet with no explanation might show a lack of self belief.

Although I agree booth could've used that opportunity to lay into warren a bit and put pressure on him to ensure the fight is fair and the referee won't interfere in the outcome

Have to agree there. Even though McDonnel doesn't possess a fully functional brain and the majority of what comes out of his mouth isn't worth responding to, Groves seemed very isolated in that instance. At the end of the day it comes down to sticking up for ur mates. Booth should've stopped him from accepting that ridiculous bet too. Winner takes all is no a go for a start as fighters deserve to get paid win or lose (Audley-esque showings excepted). Booth should've stood up and slapped them down as it wasn't Groves's place to do that as he's gonna be doing the fighting and couldn't be seen to back down.

In fairness, when George shook James's hand, the bet was that James would cover his fee... There was no talk of winner takes all until Frank explained it after...

Either way, i do agree that Adam Booth should have put his arm around him and told him to walk away..

I thought groves could of easily got himself out of it by just laughing off degale's proposal. He put himself into a corner when he didnt need to.

Do you think Booth's silence in this press conference is a true indication that he does not think his fighter will win, and he does not want to seem like such a mug. Or do we think 'the dark lord' is just up to his usual mind tricks.

The bet isnt legally binding albeit if the loser doesnt pay it'll be embarrasing.

If I was Groves I'd go straight down the bookies and lay that **** off to cover the bet
