If Dawson will go for the KO he could be in trouble. Diaconu is a really good counter puncher and he was never stopped in his pro career. Just saying. If he keeps the distance and outbox Diaconu behind the jab he should win the fight by UD easy. Anyway I wouldn't bet on Dawson KO'ing Diaconu.
Dawson is a good tall boxer. His speed is way overrated, his heart is absent, and he doesn't hit that hard. Diaconu will keep coming forward, and will probably be kept at distance by Dawson's jab. To me, it seems like a 50/50. Diaconu have been champion and have fought some elite fighter and only lost against Pascal, just like Dawson.
I've been looking forward to these two fighting for a couple of years now. I think I might actually be more interested in this fight then the main event. All **** talk, racial slurs, accusations and general nastiness that's gone on with the fighters, the promoters, the media and pretty much everyone involved with the main event has really turned me off on the fight. I'm pretty sure no matter what happens I'm still gonna be left pissed off about something when all is said and done on Saturday night. But Dawson vs Diaconu has the potential to be a great fight. Diaconu is a former amateur multi-time world champion with heavy hands and Chad dawson is obviously one of the most talented fighters in boxing. It should have happened years ago but HBO wanted Dawson to fight old past it bums but this time round both guys are looking to come back from career set backs. I'm very interested to see how DAwson can come back from his lose to Jean Pascal, infront of the same crowd in the very same place he lost his title.
just for the record (i know it doesn't mean that much the amateurs old fights at this point): Diaconu defeated in the amateurs: -Sergio Martinez at (71Kg) -Carl Froch at (75 Kg) -Zsolt Erdei at (75 Kg)
Dawson almost ducked (again?) this fight but was forced by HBO otherwise there was no fight for him... I didn't want to point that out but... The guy that people knew about at the time was Dawson, considered one of the best p4p, contract with HBO and everything, he was THE real American hype job until Pascal exposed how slow he was. Does anybody really think Diaconu would have refused a chance for fame and big $$$$ if he was offered a chance, like when he was made by the WBC the mandatory defence? Yet, what I think, is that Dawson probably just chose then to go where the money was : HBO. I would have done the same thing. Nobody probably ducked anybody at the time. But now the timing is at it's best. Can't wait to see the card. And look at Bizier before the Diaconu fight if you guy's can. Young and promising prospect.
This time, Dawson had no choice; he had to fight Diaconu. Should be a good fight because both will be at their very best. (Better fight than first time around, when Dawson ducked Diaconu.)
Dawson, even if he wins, he was ducking Diaconu.Tha last was rising then , undefeated.Dawson has avoid him twice.Once he claimed health issues but c`mon, when you go to fight another fighter AND LEAVE A BELT WHAT`S THAT?NO REAL CHAMPION DOES THAT OUTSIDE FEAR.If he would have been the real champion, he would have tried to unify, would have he not?
****ing hilarious all these idiots talking about Dawson ducking the shark when it was the shark who pulled out when they were supposed to fight years ago with a injury.:deal Know WTF you're talking about or log off.:hi:
