Marquez deserves this fight. Unlike Mosley and rest of the bunch who faced Pacquiao, he is coming off some impressive wins vs Juan Diaz UD and Katsidis TKO and no need to go into detail with his first two fights vs Pacquiao. They have unfinished business. He has a bigger chance of winning than I ever gave DLH, Hatton, Clottey, Margarito or Mosley in which I gave them no chance. Marquez is an ATG, smartest mexican boxer who ever lived. I don't believe he lost to Mayweather because of the weight. Styles make fights. You can't play the counter-punching game vs Mayweather who is faster(in any weight class) and smarter, both offensively and defensively. Marquez is simply a counter puncher, who thrives in crisp combination punches. There were simply no openings for Marquez and no opportunities for his type of style vs Mayweather whatsoever. PACQUIAO, on the other hand is a completely different story. However, we know he is more powerful at 144. More disciplined and measured imho than when they last fought. Can argue his right hand counter-punch has improved. More or less the same fighter Pacquiao. Marquez style is 10x more effective vs Pacquiao. His combinations will be there and there his speed and power will be visible. Manny is known for throwing wildly at times, leaving himself off balance and open for Marquez to captialize. Also consider taking those small steps back as Marquez, Morales and Mosley did cause Pacquiao to constantly reset creating more difficulty for him to land his combinations(also reducing punch output). Styles make fights and Marquez has the boxing skills and experience to put on a tremendous fight vs Pacquiao.

I agree. Manny has a big punch at ww but I don't see how people can hate on this fight when we have been spoon-fed dudes like Clottey, Margarito and Mosley. This should be fireworks :bbb

I made this thread because nobody is giving Marquez any credit. They think Pacquiao is going to destroy Marquez which is stupid and are complaining about this fight. Only thing Pacquiao has improved is his power. For the record, Pacquiao will win by UD but I would've taken this fight over his past 6 any day. When Cotto lost I gave Pacquiao his credit. Cotto tried to bang and Pacquiao did what he had to do. He was the better fighter that night.
Its one of the better fights that could be made condidering there is harly anyone out there. Before the Shane fight and before Berto lost i wanted him to fight either Berto of Marquez, so i guess i cant complain. There is just no one else to fight. Maybe Martinez but again weight is a major issue so i understand why it cant happen.
I can´t say if this is a better match up than the Mosley fight. But Pac-Marquez III is getting considerably better buzz than Pac-Mosley. Almost no one thought Shane had a chance, but this one has a lot of people getting excited. The fight will be huge.
