Could Joe Calzaghe even make it the distance with a prime Roy Jones?

i think he would... roy would shake him up a couple of times early in though... then i'd see calzaghe dominating him from about 5 rounds onwards...

Calzaghe is a badman... end of story, roy was a bit of a one trick pony.. Calzaghe would work him out and beat him... calzaghes the better boxer..

Maybe! Calzaghe is underrated by most here on ESB. At his peak he was a hell of a fighter who would have been great in any era.

Kessler, Eubank both landed bombs on his chin and calzaghe walked through them. I would love to have seen eubank land on jones or hopkins lets see if they would stay on their feet
Nigel Benn said joe would beat jones and hopkins when joe was prime and Im not going to argue with the dark destroyer
I think people thought a prime calzaghe was the one fighting hopkins and jones at the end of his career the fact is none of them were prime including calazaghe but some like to label calzaghe as fighting washed up bums , hopkins schooled Pavlik lets not forget, pavlik the very man people on here were saying calzaghe was ducking lol
His prime was way before then and he fought most of his later fights with brittle hands which makes it all the more remarkable the record he had.

Of course prime Calzaghe would have beaten prime Jones. Jones is a proven cheat and that shouldnt be forgotten.
Remember that Calzaghe was closer to the end of his career than Jones was his.
I cant think of one LHW victory prime Jones has that is better than old Calzaghe had at LHW. When Jones was fighting McCallum and Hill they were either recently beaten or on the slide. Both McCallum and Hill had, had recent defeats to Tiozzo and Michalczewski respectively, though people want to forget the facts

Against this Jones hell no and considering Joe was open to lead rights Jones be jumping in and out catching Joe not allowing him to get off his punches ..The only reason he tatooed Jones was he had no legs ..Big diffrence when Jones had legs ..

No he can't. There's a reason Calzaghe didn't fight anyone worth mentioning in his laughable WBO title "domination". Usually when someone plans to dominate a division you expect them to unify right away, not win a paper vacant title and defend it against nobodies for a decade only to unify in his last few fights against new comers.

    LMAO.

Joe hid in the Welsh hills for a decade .. you would need Sherlock Holmes to find Joe if you were in your prime and talented.
