Well yeah, I mean Spoon was a mental mess going into that fight, and thats what kind of separates Vitali from the Spoon type guys. He may not be much better but hes more consistent because he hasnt had the promotional factors and bad habits that messed these guys up. The Klitschkos have done well controlling their careers. Some of these King fighters of the 80's that were prostituted around probably would have done better with better management and training for sure.
Exactly, and the favored Bruno still managed to gas out and fold against this guy. Vitali isn't running out of a steam against a fatty he had been picking apart all night.
and which punchers has Vitali actually fought...Lennox Lewis and that fat Sam peters? Bruno fought Spoon, Smith, Tyson twice, and he finished most of those fights on his feet. Bruno would take Vitali to school until/if he gasses Vitali is the best of a bad bunch and thats it really
Vitali took more heavy punches from Lewis, and also took some decent punches from Sanders. I think he took punches better than Bruno. But lefthook is right, getting your face ripped up is not better than get knocked out on your feet - which was Bruno's speciality. Look, I've tried to be fair and say nice things about Vitali on this thread for a change ..... but if he can even be remotely compared to Bruno I must concede he must be crap. I think he was better than Bruno, but I cannot be bothered to argue it. Vitali is a bit of a joke. Bruno was a load of crap - and I say that as one of the Brits who cheered him on and chanted his name, I admired the efforts he made. Shame he wasn't a fighter.
I wonder if the Tyson fans want to touch on him never scoring any late stoppages? The 7th round is the latest stoppage win for Tyson. Tyson in his prime was a fireball, but his flames died out in the mid rounds. Unless he blows Vitali, I think Tyson is in trouble. Tyson was a bully type. He could dish it out, but when he had to take it, or when things did not go his way, he fouled, or in some cases lost heart. Many all time greats are underrated when they are active. Tyson was not. I think he was over rated when he was active, and has slide backwards a bit since he retired.
Well if you knock your opponents out early you can't knock them out late can you? He knocked out Ribalta in the 10th and looked fresh as a daisy doing so [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hU8aQEqC8c&feature=related[/ame]
Cant be bothered to go on Box Rec, but im sure he stopped Ribalta in 10? and a couple of others... Also u managed to note that Tyson never knocked out anyone late. Thats true but did u note? that the guys who went the distance...all ran and held? Tucker, Green, Smith... Only 3 guys beat him after round 8, Douglas, Holyfield and Lewis. Out of 60 odd fights...only 3. Also did u note that Tyson won every single one of his fights which went to the scorecards????
My mistake. Forgot about the Ribalta match. But aside from the Ribalta fight, Tyson does not have any stoppages past round 7. My point was Tyson was not a good KO artist in the mid to late rounds stands.
So you're bashing Tyson for beating guys too quick, is that the latest Klit-line of bull****? List the late KO's that VITLAY or WALDO has....and the 'names' they beat in doing so, give us all a laugh. It's also hilarious that you say Tyson is just a bully type, he can dish it out but can't take it....you don't remember "it hurts.....too much" then do you? ****ing Chris Byrd for ****s sake :rofl:rofl:rofl
