Don't get me wrong, Mundine is not the fighter he was 5 years ago. The movement has gone in the legs(which effects the purpose of a fast jab), he does not evade punches as well.

But maybe we are writting Mundine off a little. Garth Woods style was very suited to an ageing fighter with Mundine's style.

Wood is awkward and a hard ******* no doubt Gav. But when was the last time you thought Mundine actually looked good?

I'd say against Geale 2 years ago - but you may disagree?

Would be interested to hear how you think Choc would fare against the much improved Daniel Geale, in 2011?

Also, how would you see him faring against the unbeaten Yank Austin Trout? Don't forget to factor in that Choc has in reality probably never fought at light middleweight in his life, and hasn't fought a southpaw for over 10 years!

    Your thoughts mate....

Hey wise guy, why dont you ask the same questions about DannyBoy?

How do you think Dannyboy would fair against ANY of the current CW title holders (WBC,IBF,WBA), given Dannyboy has been cherry picking with the IBO title and making good use of the fact they have no mandatory title defences. Dont forget to factor in that DannyBoy has in reality never fought at Crusierweight or fought anyone thats active and within the top 10 CW ratings.

...what makes this post even more bizare is that it's written by someone who lost money on Green's last opponent.

Greens still got power and his last fight was up there with his best performances.

Mundine has lost his power and after recently being KO'd by an average
local - Mundine didnt look much better in the rematch.

Green is too small for CW, even if he has a title there.
So If Green can hold onto his title fighting catch weights - smart move.

Mundine doesnt factor in titles or anything really relevant thesedays,
his mouth is just working its way into more undeserving pay days.

Mundine started his slide quite a bit before the Geale fight.

For mine, his last good outing was in the solemn 2 fight. He may have continued that form for a fight or two later but the next time I saw him fight, he wasn't as good and has got progressively worse since.

I actually had Wood up by a point (94-93) in their rematch.

Had there not been that BS point deduction on Mundine, it would have been a draw on my card.

Only so much can be reduced to styles. Someone like Wood shouldn't be fighting that close with (or holding a win over) someone who really ought to be in the world title mix.

The slide certainly preceded the Geale bout. But I rated his performance against Geale as 'good', without getting too carried away by it.

    Thanks for the civil reply,

Dannyboy should have power, he isnt doing what most boxers do and that is diet, he is coming in on the scales with a full belly, no sauna, no having to do strict diets, just hard training which is what most boxers love. The hard part is the diet, the struggle to maintain strength and not drain yourself to make weight, its finding the balance in between the two thats the trick. KT for example would fight at 63.5kg yet he would walk around at as much as 80kg.

Mundine on the other hand is trying to do something VERY stupid imo, that is to win 3 world titles in decending weight divisions, all because no ones ever done it before. The Soliman fight was his last best fight imo, he was strong, good weight for him however he droped down another division and this is where imo it went all pear shaped.

If the Mundine who fought Soliman fought Woods it would have been another story, however the skun rabbit Mundine was custom made for the messy brawling style of Woods.

The title Green has is just a licence to print Money and call yourself a world champion, its no diffrent then holding a WBF title. The IBO is not legit because they fail to address the important issue of Mandatory defences, they allow their so called champions to cherry pick because the same champions are the hand that feeds them. Its one of the most corrupt setups in this sport and really needs to be stoped.

Its no more than a con job in my eyes. I feel danny is a fraud, ive read his book this year and what he says in the book to what he is doing now is just a flip flop, says he never needed the money and thats not why he come out of retirment but then look at wtf he is doing now? making a mockery of the sport, importing over the hill big names, spending Millions on getting them here just to inflate his ego. He could spend the same Millions to get a legit World Champion fighter here like Cunningham but he wont because he knows he will get his ass handed to him and then its Game Over DannyBoy.

People will never get the taste of the Briggs fight out of their mouths and Dannys lost alot of PPV sales over that one, the BJ fight PPV sales were low and thus he has to pull out the big guns and buy a fight with Tarver for a few million dollars. Tarver has no title, its another bullsht IBO defence. Why not spend the same money to get Cunningham here and fight for a REAL WORLD TITLE? POS ***** imo

Can't argue with that, the fight against Geale Mundine showed a glimpse of the 2006 version, sadly after that fight it hasn't been scene since.

    True Beav.

How you think Choc would fare if matched up against the unbeaten Yank Austin Trout?

Not forgetting that Choc has in reality probably never fought at light middleweight in his life, and hasn't fought a southpaw for over 10 years!
