Reading through the tweets i think the board did the right thing pulling the plug.

As ****ed off as i am, it seems Bellew would have killed himself to make the weight if they had left him to it.

I had to eat, on nutritional advice I ate, brokley and chicken, water too, I gained 3 pound overnight, run, steam, sauna, boxing, bike! I tried it all! My team watched every step and after the 2 1/2 sauna session I though I'd be really close so when it came back I'd only lost 1/2 pound they were all amazed!! ALL 5 of us! Being nil by mouth today didn't help either besides a swig of water but hey I took a chance I really tried and I've hurt myselfin the process!

Anyone who's seen me fight, knows me or met me will tell you I'm all or nothing! This just came at wrong time and I'm as de devastated as anyone.. I hope this explains people..

Thanks for the support again it's a brilliant site.. ;-)

By Sounds of that Tony i'm glad you didn't get the fight mate. Even though Cleverly don't bang that hard you could of got hurt and you got a long term ambition in sport and this may be a blessing in disguise.

You did all you could and people with half a brain will respect that.

    Good Luck against McKenzie.

Fair enough, a just wish you hadn't made the press conference so good. Had me buzzing for the saturday night, then when I heard the news gutted is the word I would use.

But in fairness I'm sure there's nobody more gutted than you.

I think its for the better ultimately you didnt get the fight for your own health. I want to see you in with Cleverly but after a nice long training camp.

Get back in the gym sort Mckenzie out in July.

Then Cleverly for the title in the Echo in Autumn with a proper build up ;)

Seems like the decision in the end as much as I wanted to see this fight, I dont want it to be at the expense of someones health.

He clearly did his best, you cant blame him for saying it was not a problem at the presser, wtf did people expect him to say, I'm killing myself to make the weight and will only be at 50% on sat night

Well I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt, you thought you could make the weight but you couldn't. You got excited and pumped up for an unexpected world title shot/grudge match that a) came out of nowhere and b) never looked like happening anytime soon. Fair play

You've got to accept though, that there will be some sceptics (and just because you post on here doesn't mean ur not immune to criticism). You will benfit greatly from these last few days. A fight that may never have happened will now happen because of the press conference. You will make a lot of money from this. You will also get a full training camp when you get your shot at Clev.

It could look a bit fishy, that all this was done to nail a fight further down the line that you probably wouldn't deserve. Fair point?
