Sonnen is a lying cheating scum. He explicitly said numerous times that he spoke to Kizer but now he says this: "All the frustration and all of the blame is on me," Sonnen said on The MMA Hour. "I'm the one that chose my words. I'm the one that said when I was in California, I represented to them that I had a conversation with Kizer and he approved my medicine use. That is not correct. Those are the wrong words. My manager had the conversation. I relied on information my manager gave me. So director Kizer is absolutely correct. He's correct to be frustrated. I chose the words. It comes to me. Now, I wasn't attempting to mislead anybody, but they're my words all the same, so I should have to answer to Kizer." He used steroids and laundered money yet he trys to hold the morale high ground and wants to actually be a politician. Its madness. He should be banned for at least a year. Ideally, a fighter should be struck off forever if they are caught using steroids.
Steriods is one thing - I don't like it but the use is widespread and its difficult to get too santicimonus about it when the testing is so poor. But the pathological lying of Sonnen is just flat out creepy and not the type of behaviour you'd want out of a top contender, let alone (god forbid) a champion. The UFC should cut him lose and thank the high heavens that Silva sparred them from having this basket case as champion.
Worded incorrectly, he's the best trashtalker, and he can hype a fight like no-one else. For a fight that I saw as a regular title defense, he really pumped me up for that match with Anderson Silva.
How so? He talks a bunch of stupid bull****, then does nothing but go for takedowns and stall in top position in his fights. He's a dominant wrestler, but there's nothing exciting about him.
He hypes a fight, and has some great one liners, is pretty funny, and backs his talk up, no matter whether you like his method or not.
