I don't wanna get to smart ass with the business side of things but there business model limits them to only making a small and somewhat insignificant profit. Basically at some point they have to take a punt and push on to begin building higher PPV sales. If sky were to only get 70,000 buys everytime they did a PPV they would not bother doing it. The US fights have been avalible for some time and Primetime has never put them on. Hopkins vs Pascal is the only non super six fight they have done.
That's fine, each to their own:thumbsup I don't find Froch particularly exciting to watch, awful would be more accurate. As for the Super-Six tournament, no, it doesn't decide who is the best in the division certainly when Bute was omitted, and you could have made arguments for both Andrade & Bika being included when the tournament was originally put together. At least there were established at the weight at that time compared to Abraham & Taylor. Also the number of retirements have pretty much rendered the super-six meaningless......
Better get used to the crushing disappointment then, come July 2nd your boyfriend is going to get stretched out by a Wlad jab:deal
Maybe that's all they are really after? By trying to compete with Sky you will have to invest some serious money and take major risks. Setanta did alright for a while but eventually went bust.... I'm afraid that realistically Sky have the market pretty much sewn up because they offer a total TV package. It depends what you are calling a ''small and insignificant'' profit anyway.... maybe the people behind it are just ordinary people, or entrepreneurs with fingers in other pies? Their business model is limited, but it enables them to make a good return on their investment by doing little work other than negotiating %'s. It's a service that people are welcome to use if they pay the one off fee for a particular event. From where I'm sitting they aren't looking to compete with anyone. The Khan production was probably a one-off. As for the other fights, maybe they didn't feel they offered the intrigue and potential sales that Hopkins vs Pascal did? We could see Sturm vs Macklin on there for instance if Sky don't pick it up, for instance.
Here's how much @amirkingkhan wants Bradley: Authorized Richard Schaefer to offer him 50-50 on the UK PPV if he will take the fight. Original offer for @amirkingkhan-Bradley was 50-50 except UK PPV, which Khan would keep 100% Now he's offering Bradley 1/2. Khan wants fight, Mad respect for @amirkingkhan for putting his money where his mouth is. He didn't need to give Bradley 1 dime of UK PPV $. He's offering 1/2, Thing is @amirkingkhan could fight Maidana, Guerrero, Judah or Morales. All better ratings, bigger gates & Khan would make more IMO.
