Marquez Floyd Small Size issue

He has a frame to weigh 150 pounds, which is what he naturally weighs. He had a frame to weigh 106 pounds when he was 16 years old and horribly weight drained. You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about.

 

The two wins he has a 135 are against opponents either physically or skill-wise JMM (weight aside) should dominate. He did neither as both of these matches were close 50/50 fights until the last few moments of the bout. Particularly in the match against Diaz he was getting the worst of things for the first half of the fight. I think it was surprising to most to see JMM so ineffective and although I felt confident he would win going into the fight after the first 4 rounds especially it didn't look very good. The rest of the match was back and forth until the cut and JMM took over the match.

These KO's may look nice on paper but in terms of the future prospect of JMM going furhter up in weight there is not much to draw from these bouts (outside of his understated power) that would make one believe he would actually get better (or even remain as effective) moving up. I can't imagine anyone watching these bouts and coming out of it thinking.. yeah JMM is looking great moving up in weight. They were great wins but not great performances.. there is a difference.

The opposite can be said for Pacquaio who moved from 130 to 135 to 147 and then 140, where he did not lose a single round on his way to 3 KO's. I mean if may not be reality but it is hard to not watch those and think, yeah Pacquaio is just as good now as he's ever been... if not better.

Whoever think Marquez was being ineffective (at any point in the fight) against Diaz is a fool. Marquez was landing crisp shots all night. He tapped that skull until Diaz couldn't take anymore. Incredible fight and an amazing night for Marquez. However, it was a tough bout and having to fight like that every time at LW would leave Marquez ruined very quickly. He is a small guy and only his skill got him through those LW fights. He should still be at 130 and is nearly THIRTY SEVEN YEARS OLD.

Floyd moved up at around 24/25 because he COULDN'T make 130 anymore. He is now a Welterweight, fighting a lightweight that should still be at 130. This is cherry picking at its finest.

Also, there can be no doubt Pacman is a freak of nature. The way he looks the part at 140 now and has every WW in the world calling his name. Amazing stuff.

Floyd is fighting Marquez because there's no one else to fight. The only reason Marquez is a big name is because of his two close fights with pacquiao, in spite of moving up to lightweight, etc,

the only big names in the sport right now under middleweight are:

pacman
floyd
marquez

the other guys, Mosley, williams, cotto, margarito, have absolutely ZERO mainstream appeal,
and like I said, marquez only has appeal because of pacman

so quit crying about it
