Someone tell me about Jones Jr steroid use.

ripped fuel contained androstenedione (was sold OTC by GNC) and was claimed to be safe (not a steriod), but that was false, it is a steroid, and you would have tested + for steroids for using it

 

Apparently, no...his opponent also tested positive (not sure what he used), so they kind of canceled each other out.

 

a lot of people didn't know about it....my buddy almost lost his career due to it (police officer)

Everyday judging from how HORRIBLE he looks in his recent weigh in. Nice jowls ole roy. He looks 20 years older than his age, OMG wow.

 

Nobody knows what Roy tested positive for. He claims it was an ingredient in Ripped Fuel that was banned at the time, but details were never really released. The story of the failed drug test came out much later after the fight. It was essentially swept under the rug without anyone but the boxing press making a big deal out of it.

Nobody seems to care much because it was against an opponent nobody cared about and his opponent also tested positive for steroids. Jones never failed another test.

It sucks but I believe that were a lot of good fighters in the late 80s and 90s that used steroids but they didn't really test back then so we will never know unless these guys come out...but i doubt any will ever do so.

 

because Richard Hall also tested positive with 4x the legal limit, both fighter took a second test and both test came back negative.

No. There never was a second test. Jones tested positive for a steroid and then admitted to have taken it. Despite the admission a second test was ordered but never completed.
