Just watched the Tom Doran v Mad Maxwell fight (on Eurosport8pm tonight), basically Doran was hurt and the ref jumped in and saved him from a loss by giving him a standing 8 count, even though Doran didn't touch down and wasn't held up by the ropes... But it doesn't end there, Doran get's caught again and looking hurt he manages to smack the wild maxwell, he lands a few more and the ref waves it off.... A complete shambles. Corruption or poor refereeing still ruining fights in 2011. REF was Howard Foster..... :tired

I thought the stoppage was fair. When Doran was stunned he always stepped back and just took the one shot that shook him, Maxwell when he was hit took two massive shots and was stuck on the ropes.

I was more upset with the way he protected Doran and stepped in and stopped Maxwell, Doran didn't touch down and therfore Maxwell should of been allowed to finish him, Maxwell didn't get a standing count.....
I was about to say maybe he stopped and counted cos of the ropes but he didn't....that is just a simple ''house fighter'' decision there. Griff's right Foster is shocking. Mr.TKO Howard Foster...
Why is there never a big fuss made about this? In football if a linesman gives a goal when the ball isn't over the line all the talk in the studio and in the papers is how **** the linesman is but in boxing the studio guys and commentators might mention it once and then swiftly move on and say something like 'it was a learning fight for x' and the ref is free to go rob some other poor chump who had the audacity to try and win.
I've not seen it quite so blatantly and all in 1 round, 1 rule for Doran and another for Maxwell.... Maxwell must be fuming and not for the first time.
