    Oh FFS!

This is his 3rd DeGale fight in a row....Dilks (somewhat premature), Smith as well....i've sat in York Hall a few times and seen him jump in early. It's like he needs to get out ring to have a **** or something it's bollocks.

This is like when Hatton had Vann for fight after fight...i don't agree with this.

Is that cut rule in effect still? Where the fighter who is cut loses regardless of the fight? And regardless of how they receive it?

I only get really angry at refs who let the fight go on too long rather than too soon

Not saying they dont make mistakes & some of them are useless but stopping a fight slightly early is always better than slightly late

Imagine in the future your son is in the ring, which type of ref would you prefer?

I agree with you to a point mate but there's got to be a balance. He's to safe for my liking. I Understand your point about having a son but i don't like to see fighters getting there dreams crushed because a ref wants to get back to his can of coke and sandwich.

Completely understand what ur saying & sorry for preaching, have had a few

My son was brain injured at birth, I live with that reality everyday so I would happily see 1,000 Bellew-McKenzie's before another Eubank-Watson

I think the balance isnt right with British refs & judges at the moment. Lots of poor decisions recently

I'm really sorry to hear that mate and no i totally understand where you coming from and tbh your right. Sometimes it's easy for me and others to talk about fighters taking more punishment cos were not the ones taking them. I love to see Wars and courage likes Webb's display of it last week but these guys have families and yeah i think as much as i'd love to see ref's leave it longer suppose it would weigh heavy on them if a kid got hurt.

TBH theres a massive difference between stopping that Webb fight at some point after Webb was taking a prolonged beating and the tons of soft ass stoppages that have no reason. Guys not even hurt just getting flurried on and stopped. It makes the sport look ****ing silly, it really does. It's supposed to be tough in there boys. Do we want to see massacres? No, course not.

But, you have to give good fighters the chance to create classic comebacks and that is the skill of being a referee. Unfortunately we don't have any perceptive refs that know the signs and do their homework. They take easy ways out and ref based on fear.

Generally if you stop the fight when somebody can no longer defend themselves effectively you've pretty much got it right in my book. Of course sometimes its tricker, as in the Webb fight where he took a beating but was always defending himself just about. Thats what you're paid to do, make that tough call when enough is enough. We're not even getting the easy ones right, that'd be a start.

    Rant over.

Your right mate, I hear both sides of argument it's just frustrating cos i'm sure some of us would make better ref's. I get impression these guys get into a routine and don't really enjoy there job. It's not a easy job but there's some stoppages that are downright disgraceful like your mate with Gavin in last 10 seconds.

Bayliss you can see loves it.

Do Ref's have to be a certain age?...i can't remember seeing a ref under 35 before. Probs wrong...

Unless Groves gets DeGale out of there inside four rounds he's no chance.

He'll start off quite well but use a lot of energy doing it and will be rescued by Booth in the middle rounds.
