I thought it was a fair decision

 

i had groves by 1 degale never got going perfect plan from groves

 

I thought DeGale won by 1 round, not enough in it for me to say he definately should've won that though. Congratulations to George Groves, knocking the smug look off DeGale's horse face like that must be one of the best feelings in the world.

 

I was sad to see a winner tonight. Both lads went in and layed it all out. Huge respect to both lads.

I think Groves impressed more tonight. Didn't realise he had those kind of boxing skills. I think he is a world champ in the making!

Degales performance was a little disappointing. However, I think Degale has the ability to turn it up several gears. He also needs to reconsider his gameplan.

Seeing how close it was lets hope there will be a rematch. Should be a goodun!

 

i had groves by 2.i think degale will still acheive bigger things but well planned tatics.someone from degales camp called adam booth a glorified fitness instructor,i think he showed more than just that

 

I think Degale won by 1 but groves impressed me and Degale disappointed me lol.

 

DeGale was missing far too often and was ultimately outthought and out-landed. Unfortunately for him, the rounds in which he found big shots tended to be those he was already on top in. He didn't really take many rounds away Groves by pulling something out of the bag when needed.

 

The stats say Groves landed more and threw more accurately.

 

It was close. I was LMAO at DeGales face when he saw he lost. He had a real ego that just got brought back down to earth. I really don't think he thought he could lose going into that fight. It probably cost him too because it looked like he could have done more. Eitherway I didn't think either of these fighters were ready for a fight like this at this point in thier careers. It appeared DeGale was less ready because by the time he realised he was down it was almost too late. DeGale should try to push for an immediate rematch. He's obviously very low right now and just got taught a hard lesson about boxing. If he wants to make something of himself he needs to go straight back at it and learn how to do it right.

From a promoter's point of view what a screw up by Frank Warren. He should never have put a fighter with only ten fights into the ring with a guy who has equal size and ambition and a lot of natural ability. Usually when prospects get tested like this there's always an angle. The opponent has either learned how to lose, is a touch too small, or abit too crude. DeGale didn't have these advantages he just had to go in and be the bigger man but he couldn't do it. Groves could. All the power to him.

P.s. Was interested to see that Franjk had't worked a rematch clause intio the match. Thats pretty suprising considering DeGale is such a money maker from him.

I actually had it 117-114 for Degale but it just depends on what you like. There we're so many rounds where you could have scored it either way. Probably one of the most difficult fights I've ever scored.

Props to Groves though he did much better than I ever thought he would and I can't complain that he got the nod.

 

I had DeGale winning. Lost a bit of money, damn...

 

I scored it even but thought Groves was more likely to get one or two rounds I gave to DeGale than the other way around. I wasn't in the least bit surprised when they announced the scores.

I agree that DeGales unpopularity could go against him in close rounds, especially when it's all British judges, like tonight, who probably see every interview etc. I don't really think that was the issue tonight though.

 

I had Groves winning by 1 round. It was a close fight - but George threw more, was more effective, moved well and out landed Degale. Well deserved decision.
