Come on. DeGale won that fight

  1. Degale lost fair and square. Didn't do enough work. He was shown to be just as much a novice as he claimed Groves was. Groves out-punched him by 86-72; not that I place a great deal of emphasis on punch stats, but I think it was, in this case, suggestive of a close victory for Groves. Absolutely de-****ing-lighted to see that utter wanker and sore loser Degale end up with a loss on his record to George Groves. Nothing can erase that now. He'll never get over that psychologically. That was a sweet, sweet victory. **** James Degale. He is a total *****, and he showed it in the way he took both losses to Groves. No class, no grace.

Yep, on SKY the punchstats said that Groves both out-punched and out-landed Degale. Close fight though put expression on Degale's face when decision went the other way was hilarious:lol:

115-114 DeGale. Though seeing Mr. Warren shitting himself like that makes me wanna see Groves beat DeGale again in the inevitable rematch.

DeGale clearly won that fight. He looked a class above Groves.

I'l be honest they need to get DeGale a proper strength and conditioning coach cause he looks flabby at 168 lbs. Also I felt like he had a higher gear then Groves but just couldn't find the gas to sustain it. If he was physically in better shape that honestly could have been the difference tonight.

Despite being out landed and looking pretty clueless at times. Most definitely a "class above". :nut

Degale will only achieve greater things IF he can get from off the canvas and win. Sure, hes got good skills but has he fought someone like Groves,or to be precise, fought anyone better than Groves? Not only do you need to dish out punishment, more importantly you need to be able to take it. Groves showed from his last fight what a heart he has when he was dropped from a wicked punch and got up to take the win. Groves fitness and conditioning was absolutely superb. So far Degale has been fighting opponents who are 'slow thinkers' and once he came to fight a faster guy with 'faster speed/reaction he is slightly surprised and confused but credit to him for coming back in the end but it was too little too late. All things said, Degale has yet to convince me if he is capable of taking punishment.

Had it even but only cause DeGale won 3 of the last 4 rounds. Glad Groves won, he was leading most of the fight and DeGale only performed in spurts.

Was too funny when Jimmy Lennon jr was announcing the winner and Degale started jumping up and down like he'd won when he read out 'and still undefeated', lol what a mug

I can't wait to hear Degales post fight interview. I think Groves deserved a little more respect from the degale camp. Walking off like that was not good!

I dont know about punishment but he certainly looked comfortable taking anything Groves threw at him. It was an excellent fight, DeGale edged it for me. Still, he can learn a lot from tonights fight.

    Well done to both guys.

Probably because I didn't let emotion factor into my scoring unlike most Brits. DeGale looked the better boxer. He was agressive. He controlled the tempo of the fight and the center of the ring. He landed the harder punches. He did more damage. He looked relaxed unlike Groves. He looked fresh whereas Groves looked labored from all the wasted movement and the punches he took.
