    Firstly, let me get my smugness out the way. I backed Groves from day one & I'm delighted.

    I said on this forum that when DeGale loses to Groves it won't be his fault, it would be Mcdonells & he would be sacked.

    Frank warren said something very interesting after.

    "Maybe we'll see the back slappers disappear now and Degale does some serious work." - Jim McDonell, see you later!!

    Sounds more like the people around DeGale that blow smoke up his arse and nosh him off inbetween rounds but McDonnell needs to go as well

    I think you are right mate. McDonnell is getting the sack, Frank seemed to be raging about the fight plan, he also was going on about the lack of uppercuts thrown by Degale etc.

    Question is, who would you appoint as Degale's trainer?

    How Fwank thinks DeGale would have landed any of those uppercuts is beyond me? James never really had George against the ropes and Groves was happy to box off the back foot for the full 12 rounds. You can't just throw and land uppercuts against someone with that gameplan.

    James DeGale's whole style is massively flawed. Anyone could see that. He can't punch properly. His footwork is awful and his head movement isn't anything special either.

    That said, I thought he'd do a bit more than he did tonight and would win so full credit to George Groves.

    James DeGale is still good, but he isn't great yet.

    Criminal case of underestimating your opponent and not planning for different scenarios. Lets face it, and i'll add that i'm glad Groves won here, a James Degale who at times looked lost and confused still only lost by a point on 2 cards. He fought based purely on abilty/instinct. Ok Jim Mc said right things in the corner but that reactive not proactive, they shoulda planned for the best George Groves and they didnt. It cost em, great job Groves for keeping his cool, implementing a gameplan and for me deserved the win but big assist to Adam Booth to be fair

    :lol::lol::lol:

    Degale bottled it. Couldn't really understand his fight plan. Underestimated Groves completely and fought into his hands.

    I thought he showed him too much respect in the ring to be honest.
