X...however many have agreed! Still amateur traits there, Tibbs will get him in the same shape Jim Mc's famed for but with an immense improvement on fundamentals, experience and strategy

I actually think Frank Warren would be a better trainer than Jim McDonell.

Firstly i didn't see the fight which was gutting.....

Secondly i'd like to say well done to George Groves a man i've insulted vehemently over last few weeks. He done well to come through what was a tough grueling fight. I dunno if he reads forums but if he did i'm sure he'd think i'm a right *****. Well done Macho and co who debated with me over weeks saying Groves would win.

I never been sold on the lad and still don't believe he's any great shakes but he's a fine champion and good for boxing cos he wants it badly.

Well done to Booth was making the right gameplan and preparing his man for a 12 round battle.

I can't say much about DeGale and McDonnell but i always said DeGale should of went with a coach who knows how to develop his undoubted skills.

There's not much between these two guys but George got the nod again and i take you guys views on fight.

I put my balls on the line and believed DeGale would batter Groves. I think i got ''gassed'' up and it isn't the first time i've read a fight badly wrong and won't be the last.

I still have faith in DeGale and glad he showed his chin tonight and showed he's willing to go to war. He may be thick but he can fight!

Now for Hopkins to make history...or have i made a pigs ear of this call as well..

    Fair play Mandanda :good

I went from just about favouring Groves when the fight was announced to believing DeGale was gonna pick him apart easily. I got fooled a bit by the hype myself even though I knew James DeGale has so many flaws.

It was a close, close fight. James DeGale isn't finished by a long way but he has a lot to work on for sure.

We've had a few debates about the outcome of this fight. As you know i backed Groves from day dot & im well chuffed..

The key thing that won this fight for Groves was GAME PLAN!!! Ive been saying for weeks and weeks that Team Groves had overcompensated for DeGale, where as Team DeGale undercompensated for Groves.

The man person to blame is Jim McDonell, no game plan, sparring was ****, no real tactics, just **** poor.

Im amazed Warren has alowed another Khan situation to develop if im honest. He has already commented about DeGale dropping his back-slappers and hangers-on & getting down to some serious work.

You would have thought he would have learnt the first time around?

    :good Cheers Roe

I tried listen on bus to fight, Costello made it out to be a Rocky fight . That good a fight?....

I felt DeGale picked the wrong man i remember many on here were baffled by his choice of trainer. The Smith fight i think i got carried away with it as well as Anderson vs Groves.

Jim's never been Mr Technical. Never will be, James doesn't need winding up he's not all ticket anyways.

I'm shocked Frank allowed it to happen he's hardly pushed his fighters in his direction in first place.

Tbh i noticed Jim starring at Watt at end of a interview yesterday....very very strange guy.

I like James and won't give up on him i believe he's a classy fighter and will be if in right hands. I'm never one for changing trainers just cos of a lost but i trust you lads thoughts and it seems like a shocking gameplan. Time for a change me thinks..

Fair play Mandanda, I've read some of your posts saying Groves was stood no chance and disagreed but I have to admit I was thinking with my heart and not my head and deep down i expected Degale to win. As macho said i think the big factor here was gameplan and not underestimating your opponent. I think Groves just went the extra mile in training for it. I thought it was interesting that Groves kept saying Degale had people blowing smoke up his arse rather than telling him what he needed to work on, whether the dark lord was telling him to say that or not, he was right.

He just couldnt get through georges defence.

I lost an awful lot of respect for Jimmy Mac in the build up to this fight, and seemed to start acting like degale, very arrogant, cocky infact. And the have both made themselves look so stupid, as have 99.9% of the british media when it came to predicting the outcome of this fight and building up degale like he was some kind of superstar.

Well who's phone will be ringing in the morning for interviews, and those pricks on soccer am who licked his arse and joked about with him about groves, hmmm who will be the next boxer on the show, i wonder?

    Destined to fail.

I like Jim Mcdonell but he probably will be fired after the loss. Not his fault though, its not like De Gale was getting slaughtered in there,he just did not seem prepared to offload shots that would either win him the fight or lose it by getting countered,he just fought exactly the type of fight Groves and Booth wanted him to.
