Honesty In British Boxing

the judging over here has been terrible of late, i did score the fight to groves (will watch again sober tomorrow just in case haha) but theres been a lot of poor decisions over here of late.

I dont think the ref should score a fight as he has dutys to perform and it should be down to a judging panel so this dosnt help.

i used to think we were a fair nation but of late ive been disapointed in a lot of the decisions that have happened especially ones for prospects who have been beaten. Seems the scorecards are wrote before the bout sometimes

 

British judges for me are amongst the worst anywhere these days

Simpson/Smith II was a joke

That fight in Prizefighter a few months ago was a joke where it got scored 30-29 to the guy who had been knocked down!!

Wrong man got the decision tonight for me but i'd put it more down to being inept than bent, i'd imagine had that been in America tonight then Degale would have got the decision as they seem to score better overall IMO.

 

I felt Groves won on the basis that DeGale did nothing in the early rounds, but yeah we've had some dire decisions...couldn't understand how any judge gave Mutley a round either lol

 

DeGale won by seven rounds? He won 9-2-1? Bull****, that's the worst scorecard I've seen for that fight. The worst decision of the night easily came in the Cleverly fight, that was disgraceful.

7 rounds rofl, i think you had to much to drink, Groves landed and threw more punches, i scored it to by DeGale by 1, if you think this fight wasn't like super close, like 1-2 rounds close then theres no hope for you, you don't score points by just walking forward.

 

7 is too wide... anything from 1-5 pts for DeGale couldnt be argued as wrong imo.

Will watch again tomorrow but i only had trouble scoring 2 rounds.

 

1-3 I can see, 4-5 is way too wide for DeGale.

Warren's a boil on the ass of boxing.

 

I didnt think there was any British judges for the groves fight? Maybe mistaken but wasnt it two of them american?

 

All the judges in the Groves fight were British.

I scored it to Groves by two, DeGale was the ''aggressor'' but he was just following Groves around the ring and was made to miss a lot. I'd imagine they landed a similar number of good punches, but DeGale was made to fight how Groves wanted.... the scoring was fair enough for me.

Don't forget that Groves was the ''away'' fighter..... it's not often a Frank Warren fighter loses a close decision on a Frank Warren show.

The judging here has been poor throughout this year, but I reckon they were pretty much bang on last night in this fight.

The referee of the Cleverly fight was American.... but it was a ''British'' stoppage as we say on the British forum, very premature, which Cleverly pointed out himself.

 

I had Degale by 2. Judges would have been inlfuenced by the pro Groves crowd which they shouldn't be as experienced professionals, if the fight was anywhere else Degale would of got the win. Ian St John-Lewis let Pascal get away with alot of rabbit punching on a 46 y.o. Hopkins too. And don't forget the decision in Fury-McDermott I, Terry O'Connor having Fury winning by 6 rounds when most thought McDermott did enough.

This sort of stuff seems to happen too much. Alot of phoneys in British Boxing, i think we need some new blood officiating.
