B-Hop breaks record... and makes Hopkins-Calzaghe debate look even more ridiculous!

One win does not equal up to many great wins

So Hopkins > Calzaghe

 

I think you have to live with the facts that Calzaghe made Hopkins look bad, hang trying to get time out.
That Calzaghe beat Hopkins at a new weight, in America with 3 American judges and Cortez as ref, landing more on Hopkins than anyone ever and scoring the highest score against Hopkins ever. Calzaghe beat Hopkins sandwiched between Hopkins best wins of Tarver, Wright and Pavlik.
You have to live with that fact, that no matter what Hopkins does in his career, he will always have that loss to Calzaghe where he trying to get time out and even with his cheating couldnt beat Calzaghe.

Move on and accept that Calzaghe beat Hopkins :smoke

 

Heres a good fact when people look at Hopkins and Calzaghes careers and records. Hopkins doesnt have a better win than Eubank or undefeated Kessler. Trinidad was a former WW that had only had 1 MW fight and had been put down 7 times that I know of. Remember for the people who rate that win so high for Hopkins, just look at how this version of Jones that people say was so shot handled Trinidad and toyed with him with ease.

There has been 8 fights that Hopkins couldnt win, but the Calzaghe loss really hurts those Hopkins fans

 

As a Brit, a Calzaghe fan and somebody who does not like that racist ***** Hopkins ive always considered Hopkins achievments to of outshined anything Calzaghe has done.

But dont be delusioned here, when they fought Calzaghe won. Hopkins was allowed to fight extra dirty thanks to super biased Cortez, the complete opposite of what he did and didnt allow Hatton to do v Mayweather. On the night he was the better fighter. Do with that what you like but from what ive seen the one and only time they got into the ring together Hopkins walked out the loser.

Calzaghe is an awesome fighter, Hopkins kinda looks a shadow of his former self right now, reactions and shin are shot to hell - yet he still beats the number 1 LHW. How about a little respect to the guy who held his own with him for 12 rounds 3 years ago.....without the ***** excuses.

Hopkins proved yet again last night that his HISTORIC career puts WBOgus Joe firmly in the shade, and you have a sore ass about it. Not my problem!

Eubank had lost two fights with Collins then been effectively retired for 2 years, travelling around having on occasional exhibiton bout with journeymen, then got the call for a shot at a smw title when he was rumoured to be getting ready to fight at cruiserweight! Then after the Calzaghe fight he lost another 2 fights and retired for good.

Hopkins has a good few wins much better than that, not just one or two. :deal

 

Tarver, Pavlik and Trinidad are all better wins than Eubank.

 

And Pascal as well. Pascal was prime, the fight was in Canada, and Hopkins was 46 years old. That win way exceeds Calzaghe beating up a handpicked name for some mainstream exposure.

 

Calzaghe won the fight even though it was close.

Hopkins ranks WAY higher though.
