Do you think DeGale regrets acting like such a twat in the build-up now?

Dude, it's easy to act respectful in victory. You know what DeGale would have said had he got the decision? Something along the lines of, "I've talked a lot during the pre-fight, but make no mistake, I have respect for Groves. He's a tough kid, and he surprised me with his tactics". No doubt in my mind. It's a little harder when you're on the losing end.

He was clearly embarrassed. That's why he didn't give an interview.

If he genuinely thought he deserved the decision, he'd have his arrogant ****ing face in the camera telling us all exactly why he should have won.

I don't think Degale had any answers and that's why he left. He wasn't able to back up all that **** talking and he didn't even have the grace to give Groves the props for winning.

He had to run for it.

He didn't have the grace to give Groves props for winning, just like past greats MAB, Hopkins, Hagler, Foreman, etc. This is nothing exclusive to James DeGale.

Bollocks. I'd bet my balls that arrogant **** would have rubbed the win in Groves' face.

Regardless, lets not speculate on what DeGale might or might not have said if he had won the fight.

The fact is, he lost. And he didn't have the nuts to face a camera afterwards even though he had a lot of ****-talking to explain.

    We completely disagree on this.

Absolutely. He should have probably faced an interview and gave Groves some credit, but he didn't? Does this mean he isn't a real man? Not at all. I remember Roberto Duran refusing to embrace Wilfred Benitez after their fight. Now that's the worst.

Oh, well that makes it all ok then.

DeGale is obviously a great, stand up guy.

If MAB, Hopkins, Hagler and Foreman are allowed to act like ****s then it's all good for DeGale too.

Mind you. I dont remember any of those guys trash talking their opponents like a school kid for years.

    This.

    The guy is pure arrogant.

People who think this loss will make him less arrogant are living in cloud cuckoo land. Right now he will probably be trying to lay the blame at everyone elses feet apart from his. That's what people like him do.

If you're going to be an arse you better make sure you actually win. Mayweather's a complete twat but he's got the skill to back it up so it's somewhat forgiveable.

I think it might suddenly have dawned on DeGale what a mistake he'd made when he came in to rounds of booing in his own city last night.

I agree. I don't think there is anything wrong with complaining about a decision if you genuinely believe it was bogus. Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser. Unless you've been beaten all ends up, like KO'd or shut-out, and then it's only good grace to acknowledge that, but as far as I can tell, DeGale was not beaten decisively.

It's all of DeGale's behaviour in the build-up that sickened me, not the aftermath.

You don't remember Hopkins trash talking? How about Roberto Duran? It's the idea that I don't think a fighter, especially one as young as DeGale, should be overly criticised for not conducting an interview. He had a horrible cut, it was more productive for him to go and have that looked at rather than him being put in front of a camera only moments after losing the biggest fight of his professional career. Let's see what he has to say to the media in the coming weeks.
