So...in an alltime P4P top 100 Hopkins>>>>Jones? I would probably roll with that, last night was an incredible achievement.

The same thing can be applied when comparing Jones to a lot of fighters.

Fighter X is a greater fighter, Jones a better fighter.

In my list there's only about 50 fighters above Jones. About two or three of them may have been more formidable than him. Dunno about Fighter X though, he's no Paup Snith.

Yeah, I would have thought thats been the case for a while now.

I expected him to handle Pascal again, and overall I've never been a great fan of the light heavyweight version of Haye. I don't think he's much cop really. But it was the crowning glory almost, for B-Hop. More than beating Pascal, getting that title of 'oldest champion' summed up the last 10 years of his career. It was a nice moment, a fitting one.

Good post. Even to beat a fighter of the calibre of Pascal at his age is impressive though. And I think he'll find Dawson very easy to gauge.

I really think it's silly to try to claim that Jones has ever been anywhere near Hopkins from a technical standpoint. That's not to say Jones wasn't better than him at their best, don't get it twisted. Hopkins is still going strong for a reason, he has mastered the scientific aspects of boxing, and he did so donkey's years ago. Jones' nickname was fitting, he was superman in his prime, a physical phenomenon.

No doubt, he's still a top world class light heavy. Probably the #1 infact, which is just ridiculous.

Dawson has the tools to beat him at this stage but mentally probably not. Very easy to imagine him getting messed around a bit and losing his confidence. It would be mind over matter in that fight. If Dawson commited to his right jab, really let his full arsenal go and stepped to Hopkins rather than tentatively holding off, Hop would have a lot of problems, but he couldn't even maintain that against Adrian Diaconu.

Yeah, I mean Dawson has fast hands and is definitely posing problems unto B-Hop in the ring, I think his chances of beating him are good. You just don't count Hopkins out though.

    True dat.

    Deffo the no.1.

This is it, plus Hopkins will probably stunt his workrate further. Hopkins will win this one pretty handily IMO.

Pascal basically beat Dawson doing a Hopkins. A traditional late Hopkins performance that is, of the Pavlik mould. He's been very aggressive against Pascal, quite clearly. He wouldn't need to be against Dawson. But maybe he really means it when he says he wants to entertain.

Is it likely Hopkins fights Dawson next then? I heard him talking about it. That would be a great win for Bernard, **** me that would be great for him, but personally I think it is going to be a major task.

Hopkins lost to Jermain Taylor, twice.

The general feeling was that the two winners of last night would fight. I think it was actually contracted come to think of it. Hopkins said after the fight that he'd fight Dawson but supposedly at the post-fight presser him and Richie S said they'll try to get out of it as it's 'boring'
