Why did not Bhop wait until Dawson and Pascal had rematch..:think Pascal is not a fuken good boxer,actually he is pretty bad. just a wild muscle bounded Brawler. what's better than the lineal champ? In this day and age with multiple belts per weight class, the lineal champ is what sets one champion apart from the rest. Sometimes it doesn't mean you're the best fighter in that weight class, but it does mean you're the champion there.
Its a good win for popkins no doubt but hopkins knew he could deal with pascals limited style, even froch could do that Hopkins didnt show any interest in a fight with dawson but as soon as pascal beat dawson he jumped on pascal, hopkins knows whats styles he can win against. He has a lot of problems against speed, V taylor, calzaghe and jones but against people like pavlik and pascal hopkins with his ringsmarts can do the job
It's not a comparison per se', Hopkins is a better fighter, but I believe Dawson would beat him, the same way Taylor beat him, I have a tremendous amount of respect for Hopkins, I just don't think he beats Dawson.
Dawson is gonna get his ass kicked badly. Sorry to let you know, but it's gonna happen. It will be quite sad too. :-(
Why would it be sad? Dawson will outwork Hopkins, and is far more complete in terms of craft than Pascal. I believe the fight will be close but at the end of the day, Dawson would win the fight. The only way Dawson is going to lose is if he's KO'd, I don't believe Hopkins can do that.
Very true....I think you need a combination of both to beat someone with the craft and experience of Nard.
Look I actually agree that stylistically Dawson is a tough match up for Hopkins. But, one you can not ever count Hopkins ringa savvy and greatness out. Two, what has Dawson done to earn it ??? Let him fight and try to beat Pascal and earn it the old fashion way. 3) If I was Ex, I wouldn`t take the fight with Dawson, no money in it who would pay to see Dawson anyway ? B Hop should either get Bute, for the 175 crown, or beat on the winner of the super 6. When they had a middleweight version of the tournament years ago, Hopkins (who won by KO Tito) was the last one invited in. At the time he said, I wasn`t invited, but they couldn`t have this without me... Hopkins should call the shots and I can think of many more exciting fights than Dawson...
