Isn't it more logical? Hopkins beat the man who took Chad's 0 and undefeated Bute is being regarded as the best SMW next to Andre Ward also having a huge fanbase, it just makes more money and history sense.

Sorry Chad, step aside, nobody cares.

While Bute is under Showtime contract (TV for Hopkins-Pascal I), he's not yet committed to face the winner of the Super Six (though that's the plan), and it would be fascinating to see what Bernard can do at 168lbs, or if Lucian doesn't wanna risk his belt, at LHW vs. the powerful southpaw. Canada admires a fighter and Hopkins put on 2 straight performances to remember (even the 2nd was a bit ugly), so why not go straight for the biggie:

Canada's most popular vs. America's controversial grandpa who just left the country with Pascal's belt. I say bring it on, and Chad can have his rematch on the undercard. Or not, we don't care.

I think the Dawson Diaconu fiight was a title eliminator. so he has to fight Dawson as mandatory.

I can hear Bhop now; " I'll never let a polished black boy beat me!"

Doesn't Dawson have a mandatory shot at the Hopkins now?

Yeah, that's how I see it as well. Perhaps if Dawson shows something exciting in his next fight under Steward it should be made. But right now, no thanks.

Besides, the styles match up would make for a boring fight. I'd rather see Hopkins fight someone against who he could open up like he did against Pascal.

I'm sure Hopkins would fight either guy next. However, I can't see Bute going up to LHW to fight Hopkins anytime soon.

I don't think Hopkins is an ABC champion. Isn't he diamond champ or some ****? That's valueless, all that matters is The Ring belt and Chad is no mandatory for that. I say let Chad and Pascal slug it out for the paper belt while Hopkins moves on to bigger and better things. Why not go 168? I think he can do it.

Dawson as of now has the mandatory shot at Hopkins, he stepped aside to let the rematch happen with Pascal, most likely with some step aside money, I know that Hopkins team doesn't want that boring fight, but they may have to give it to him, or be stripped, or give him even more step aside money, or be sued. I know I don't want to see the fight, but we may have too.

So Dawson shouldn't recieve a rematch for the title he lost via Technical decision?

Hopkins would beat Bute easier than he would Dawson. Bute would have to move up to 175 pounds and won't bring a belt, however Hopkins should just vacate the WBC belt and fight Bute just for legacy.

too bad Bute wants no part of Bhop as well as of anyone else remotely good
Bute does not even count as a fighter as he only competes in mismatched showcase fights with his family members as judges and referees against cap drivers to rip off his deluded fans. Butes next opponent is Jean Paul Mendy
once done he“ll likely fight that 8-24 guy who beat the other guy he actually wanted to take on, Les Sherrington, by KO1

Maybe he should. But how's that Hopkins's matter? It's up to Chad's and Pascal's handlers.
I see. He should vacate then. Or unify. Just fight someone who excites more than 3 people, 2 of them being Chad himself and Manny Steward.

I think the TV situation makes it unlikely, since Hopkins is with HBO for two more and Bute is with Showtime.

No way Bute's going to fight Hopkins. Just no way in hell.
