"But but but I didn't think he'd fight like that" :patsch

The only half decent comment from the full 16 minutes of that video is Jim McDonnell when he says that if James DeGale fought with Groves' gameplan as well, it would have been a terrible fight. But that's still not a valid excuse for just plodding forward for 12 rounds.

Forget the hype around DeGale, George Groves is a better boxer than him.

I watched the fight this morning, I didn't watch it live, but I went on a site and caught the result by accident, I told my missus it looks as though Groves won, she said good, I hope De Gale got robbed to

    BTW, shes not Irish Frank

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

Even Frank Warren is deluded here which makes it worse. He says it's "bull****" that people don't like DeGale and claims that DeGale sold more tickets than anyone else on the bill.

I loved it during one of the press conferences where DeGale was bragging that he sold 900 tickets personally then someone asked George Groves how many tickets he sold and he said "how many have I sold for a rival promoters show? None." :D

I think i know the ansewr to this but am i the only one who likes Degale?? I dont know why but i really like the lad, hes just a bit simple you cant hold that against him. He wants to talk smack but doenst know how to without swearing so he acts ridiculous, hes harmless if he gets under anyones skin with his insults thats due to them not him, hes literally without wit. BUT despite these set backs hes a decent prospect (still) and if he sorts himself out could be good, its a shame hes in the weight division he is, same for groves, there arent many easy fights out there at the top.

Khan also had a pair of balls and gave a post fight interview after being totally demolished.

De Gale has the potential to be very good, he's just not as good as he thinks he is yet.

"I told him I'd knock him out inside 4 rounds so I thought he'd try and knock me out in 4 rounds but he didn't, he just out boxed me and that should be against the rules or something janamsayin" - James Degale

As a fan of both as fighters (not so much as people in Degale's case) i felt this kind of this result is the best case scenario. Neither guy got blitzed/humiliated in the ring, sooner or later there'll be another installment and neither guy's career would be severely tarnished.

Seeing the reaction of Degale though I take on board what Mand is saying; if he'd have got sparked out even a guy with the ego the size of James Degale would be booking a flight stateside and alligning himself with Freddie Roach/Roger Mayweather. Flip it, if Khan had lost a close decision to Prescott, would he have made the (correct and respected) move to the wildcard? My initial thought is no.

Unlike many i'll give Degale benefit of the doubt to see the fight again and see if his stance chances and comes out a bit more gracious with a view to learning from the mistakes he and his team made in training and the fight. If, as expected though, he still claims 'robbery' it'll show he hasnt learnt a thing and without doing so he wont reach the heights expectedof him

p.s as loud as 50 Martin Rogan fans are (there quite a few more than that...) I was there in Brum for Degales debut believe me it werent just the odd Darren Sutherland fans givin Degale the boo treatment that night. FW chief backslapper

Amazing the difference between these two, Groves WON the fight, and he's talking about how he can improve on aspects of his game.

Came across very well, I liked the way he turned some of his answers into jokes. Gotta be careful that he does not come across to smug though.
