DLH-Pacquiao Post fight analysis.. What a difference 3 years makes!

What is funny about that? Prime for prime Pac beats Oscar. Pac dominates left hand dependent fighters like Oscar. Oscar has trouble with fighters who are not stationary, at times Oscar was confused in a fight, as he mentioned in his book. Oscar is not good at extending his punches ala Morales, he throws his fast combinations if he has near stationary target. If Mosley's in and out style troubled Oscar before, what more with the faster Pac who punches from different angles. Another thing is Oscar has lesser stamina than Pac.

 

watch any of ODLH's fights. they were the most staged overrated fights in the world.

It's more of Pac's relentless style of fighting as compared to Floyd's defensive style.

 

Mosley was light years faster than Pac at his prime when he fought Oscar. Pac isn't a lightning fast puncher like Oscar and Mosley were in their prime and younger days.

 

I'm not sure what Pacquiao's accomplishments post-Oscar have to do with the fact that all there was that night was the skeleton of De La Hoya who literally nearly lost his life trying to make weight. He almost died at the weigh-in. That fight is still largely insignificant.

 

Errr ODLH said the weight wasnt a problem. He later came up with that excuse when everyone else gave it to him. Nacho said the weight wasnt a problem either. Talk about exageration. Those excuses came up because at the time, people were so puzzled by just what happened, they could only attribute to Oscar being that shite, as oppose to Pac being that good. A lot were questioning if Pac could even hang with a top 10 WW. This is where Pac's post ODLH accomplishments comes through, it wasn't a fluke, it wasnt just Oscar, Pac could hang with a top 10 WW, in fact he made most top 10 WW look like they didnt belong in there too.

 

Yea, Oscar looking like death was just an act.

 

Well that is your view, but for me Mosley's in and out and punches against Oscar is not as fast as Pacquiao in his peak. Oscar is fast when he has a near stationary target.

 

In and out maybe, but just check out the combo's by Oscar and Mosley in their first fight. That degree of speed displayed is very rare. They look like cats but with bricks for paws.

 

If you will look at Oscar in a moment in round 3 against Pac, where Pac was against the ropes and a little bit stationary, Oscar throws very fast combination. The problem is, that is only the few moments where Pac is in the punching range of Oscar(and stationary) , as I told Oscar is fast when he have a stationary target. Oscar has a tendency not to throw punches even in his younger days, I remember before, watching Oscar against less mobile Trinidad, I keep saying to myself, what is the problem with Oscar, why he is not throwing punches.

Another thing Oscar always lose against the elites. And Pac is not just an elite, he is an all time great.

Make no mistake about it Oscar is great for boxing, has given us many exciting fights. But he always lose against the elite.
