rewatching last nights fight I cannot comprehend how the he'll this guy is considered so talented by esb. no inside game, shiity workrate, weakass offense, and barely could beat diaconu to the punch...so much for that so called gifted talent. He just fights tall and has good ring generalship that's all. He's a southpaw Wlad but more agile and less power.

Go back and jump on this hypetrain again because its going to derail again with comical results when he fights a master like bhop or a beast like cloud.

You could tell Manny had him fightin' different. He kind of reverted a little in the later parts sometimes, but over all you could see no killer instinct on him AT ALL. He possessed the tools .... (Chad CAN be a bad mugga fugga in there)... to take it to Diaconu, but seemed like he didn't ever go for it at all.

Chad CLEARLY won though. No doubt on that at all, and he'd been off a while.

Bottom line, this is what I was sayin too.

He has the abilities to do a lot more.

BUT, I am glad too to have just seen him back in the ring. He looked way off to me when he lost to Pascal, and then it was like he'd disappeared for a while. So, atleast he got a good win in and see what Manny can get out of him next time.:good

Did you see Adrian D face. Dawson was putting in work there. Dawson is a calm fighter but Steward is working with him and he will get better.

To me its a good example of Dawson being a good boxer, but not a fighter. It may change but he just hasn't shown any killer instinct as stated above. He doesn't smell the blood or go for a the finish.

He is way overhyped. To think so many believed he woulda beat Joe C is ridiculous, classic example of U.S hypejob. Was also on many p4p lists :patsch

Doesn't suck.... he's just very complacent in the ring. Not a fighter I'd really pay to watch.

Dawson's just not that good. Talented physically, but he leaves so much to be desired.

Dawson is a very talented fighter. Boxing fans and analysts can be very fickle. All it takes is one good win, and the opinion of Dawson will turn around again. Remember, all this criticism of Dawson is coming on the heels of him winning about 9 or 10 rounds against a former champion. Dawson is clearly a talented fighter for the bar to be that high for him.

I think the concerns over Dawson's lack of "killer instinct" are overstated. He has not gotten a stoppage in his last 6 fights. However, his last 6 fights were against guys who have never been stopped.

    This.

Just goes to show you how highly people REALLY think of Dawson that they believe he could have done even more, despite still winning clearly.

It's not about him not getting the stoppage. It's his reaction in these fights. The pascal fight for example, he should have been jumping on him at the end when Pascal was exaughisted, yet seemed content to stay on the outside and not do too much until it was too late. You don't always need the knockout to show killer instinct, but he just doesn't fight with passion.

fans who know about styles and watched Dawson's best wins know what im talking about. Dawson's best wins were against one dimensional come forward fighters but when he gets in with someone who has a clue about defensive fighting then dawson gets frustrated and doesn't do ****. funny how some are claiming his lack of killer instinct is overstated when it was his lack of killer instinct that cost him his 0 and his titles.
