You could argue both fighters fought the best fighters of their careers late.

His victory over Hopkins will be more highly regarded than those guys.

You know Hopkins? The guy that Calzaghe beat? Yeah, I think that Calzaghe fans will be talking about how Calzaghe beat Hopkins for a long time.

That's pretty cool, beating Hopkins. Calzaghe beating Hopkins will be what they talk about.

Every great fighter has had their fair share of bums. But Calzaghe took in more bums than the Salvation army:lol:

All this thread has proved is, as long as you're American, and black, you can beat up blown up WW's, get beat by the best of your generation, lose a bunch of times, and themedia will pump you up and the more malleable minds will lap it up and lose free thought prcoess:patsch:roll::nut

I knew ESB had some ****ing idiots on it, but this is insanity, its like day of the brain dead on here:rofl:rofl

Glenn Johnson, Antwon Echols, Keith Holmes will all be flattered to know they're lithe welters Anglo.

    Hopkins has 5 losses.

    1) in his first fight at 175.

    2) To a prime Roy Jones in an ugly fight

Then JT twice and Calzaghe - all 3 very close - All after he turned 40.

It's not that shabby a record is it?

    (Neither black nor American here)

Glenn Johnson, Antwon Echols, Keith Holmes are all NOBODIES, what the **** has Johnson ever done other than be a gate keeper? he is the same level as Bika.:patsch

Now I am not saying Hopkins is utter tripe, but to say he is above undefeated sensation Calzaghe is bordering on clinically insane. Especially when brittled boned blown up smw shot to pieces Joe schooled him on his home soil:patsch

Careful tiger on the nobody call.

Omar Sheika, Rick Thornbury, Ritchie Woodhall, Byron Mitchell, Tocker Pudwill...At least Keith Holmes had a title!

If Joe was blown up from 168-175 - Was Hopkins more or less blown up at 43 and going from 160-175?

Just questions, the emoticons on here are really overused in place of lively discussion.
